I think it's Elway being classy, even though he didn't get his guy.

We don't know that they went "all in", though. If they have been spurned, why would Elway suddenly tweet about how they enjoyed their visit when he hasn't commented on the topic at all until now?

John Elway@johnelwayWatching him throw today was the next step in this important process for our team and Peyton. It was a productive visit and went well.

Doesn't sound like Peyton told them one way or another.

I dont get why people would want to pay money for mediocrity. Just go with Tebow, if he crashes and burns, youre at the top of the draft for a new guy.

What was the figure on how much Titans and 49ers can give him vs nearly 30 million he gets from us first two years? This is going to drag out a few more days, but I agree the team feels we are in it until the end. Especially if John is willing to be this public about it.

Agreed. Peyton for whatever reason just can't commit yet; his sense of due diligence is probably pretty high.

Yeah, but what if he neither "crashes and burns" nor substantially improves? What if he completes 50% of his passes, throws erratically, pulls a few last second wins out of his ass, and we go 7-9 or 8-8. What then? Is it OK to move on, or does he earn another year?

Watch the video. The disappointment was evident. Maybe Manning is just not ready , but if the Broncos couldn't sign him today , its unlikely that they will.

Their body language speaks volumes and there is NO evidence that they had any enthusiasm. They were walking slow, hands in pockets, no lift to their steps. The handshakes were like those of people that aren't seeing each other again.

Thats what I saw.

And then Elway tweets the other stuff about productive and continuing process while I'm typing the above.

The mood swings on this thread. If he told them no we will soon be getting the same words that Miami got. As far as we know though he said nothing to AZ and let them have to pay Kolb his bonus.
