Yeah, but what if he neither "crashes and burns" nor substantially improves? What if he completes 50% of his passes, throws erratically, pulls a few last second wins out of his ass, and we go 7-9 or 8-8. What then? Is it OK to move on, or does he earn another year?

Watch the video. The disappointment was evident. Maybe Manning is just not ready , but if the Broncos couldn't sign him today , its unlikely that they will.

Their body language speaks volumes and there is NO evidence that they had any enthusiasm. They were walking slow, hands in pockets, no lift to their steps. The handshakes were like those of people that aren't seeing each other again.

Thats what I saw.

And then Elway tweets the other stuff about productive and continuing process while I'm typing the above.

The mood swings on this thread. If he told them no we will soon be getting the same words that Miami got. As far as we know though he said nothing to AZ and let them have to pay Kolb his bonus.

Maybe maybe not, but thats the guy you got. My point was why sign some veteran who you know has hit his low ceiling (or is on the decline), but is probably good enough to win you 5-6 games (Hasselback, A. Smith, whoever)

I love John Elway. He is such a badass with his nonchalant tweets.

I don't think Peyton is gonna sign anything while wearing shorts.

I guess I don't understand why he would get on the plane. I mean, does he have a bag just packed and ready to go? Where the hell are they going? Back to Denver to sign papers or something? What if he has plans with his family or something. I mean the guy has been gone doing this for more than a week. I would be like, "Dude, let me have the weekend to rest and watch some March Madness. I haven't seen my hot wife for 8 friggin days. Call me Monday, mmmkay?"

@johnelway:

Watching him throw the ball today was the next step in this important process for our team and Peyton. It was a productive visit and went well.

Depends on who is there. This team has no better option this year. The FA QBs are ****. The good QBs in the draft will be going in the first two picks. Our options are Manning or Tebow right now. Next years draft should have more top QBs.

Some of you need to push yourselves away from this. It's a total guess. Go outside or something.

My guess is he still needs blow jobs from the entire broncos organization before he says no.

That's true. There seems to be an assumption from a lot of people that Tebow will either subastantially improve or totally fail. It's possible that he will stay basically the same, or improve only marginally. I wonder if that will be good enough for a lot of people.

Meh. It's fun to speculate, armchair psychoanalyze, guess blindly. This is the internet. It's what we do.

Any particular reason you continue to feel the need to sign your posts? In an annoying thread already why add something else as a tweak?

Here is my take, Manning purposely strung this out long enough for either A. Houston or B. 49ers to get involved. The freaking 49ers worked him out Tue, he took a physical Wed and started telling teams dont bother on Thur and nobody knew. He is going to the Bay area, we were only in this if A or B didn't get involved.

So does this shoot down the Brass celebrating at Shanahan's story?
