If Denver are lucky enough to get Manning and they want to add more players to make a run this year and next, then there is plenty of caproom for that. I've said all along it's a cash issue and whether Bowlen is prepared to release the kind of money needed for an instant push.

Denver could do Manning's deal for around $10m in cap this season, leaving them still $35m to add more players. It's entirely up to them how they work that part of it as long as Peyton gets the money he needs now. I could be wrong...but thats why gurantees are so high this year . Haven't seen much in signing bonuses. The guarantees are spread out, I believe, over the contract. whatever is paid in a year goes against the cap that year.

You are wrong Scott, that was for one uncapped year only, under the new CBA if it's a signing bonus it is spread over the length of the contract up to a max of the first 5 years.
