Considering we havent done JACK in FA...actions speak louder than words. So i assume we're serious contenders.

As far as being better off for it? That remains to be seen. But if he's healthy, hes one of the best to ever play the game. Still. He'd instantly make us playoff contenders. Without him, the chances are better that we are 4-12 than 9-7

I didn't think we were going to sign a bunch of players right away. 1 you over pay, and 2 the overall impact statistically isn't there for the team. You want to let the market drop. Let players that are decent get a little desperate. But I don't think Manning will sign here. He'll get my support if he does, but I think he'll go elsewhere.
