Manning's last pay day. You have to figure 20 mil at least a year. Sounds close to me.

Yeah, he better be playing DT and guarantee a SB.

Good thing it is St Patty's soon because Pay a ton is getting some cabbage.

Pure Speculation and something to think about: I'm hearing that Manning's contract could be 90M over 4 years with 45 guaranteed.

Keep in mind that Manning is not against putting in a clause to protect the team if he is injured.
Hell to the no!!!

Insane. Should Manning really still be the highest paid player in the league? After being completely unable to throw a ball for a year+

It has nothing to do with what he can't do. It has everything to do with what we don't know he can't do.

For that money I would rather fix our lines, strengthen our running backs, and secondary. Spending that much on him will definately limit what we can do on defense, and we all should know after that New England game that we have some major liabilities there, along with the O-line.

That seems about right. Considering the Cap will go up quite a bit in 2013, that's not a bad deal.

That's about half of our open cap space ($50m). $23m this year, and we carried over $27m from last year.

We should treat this thing like Prom night and pull out now before any serious damage is done.

Amen. If true, it only Proves that Peyton isn't after rings. He wants some dumbass to pay up.

A megamillionaire who really wants rings isn't going to handicap a team with that kind of cap number.

Brees is asking for 23 a year and is getting the shaft.

Straight cash homie

The cap is supposed to hit 190-200 million by 2014.

I love you Randy.

Can you imagine how awesome it would be if we signed Peyton and he just showed up at the press conference with shades, grabbed the mic while Bowlen was babbling, and spit out that line? Do you think we could convince Goodell to just hand us the trophy at that point?

First, to worry about that you have to have an owner that has the pockets to bankroll the actual cap number. Short of that, the creative accounting doesn't really matter.

I'm going to lose my lunch if that tightass Bowlen spends this kind of money on one guy while leaving everyone else's cupboard bare.

If this all comes to pass, it's become clear that this team needs new leadership. From E F and X all the way up to Bowlen.

Peyton finds a way to stick it to us again. Years of disliking him and i cant say ive changed. Hurry up and sign with the Titans so we get on with free agency

This is what I was thinking. A few posts back elsid quoted me and said Houston wasn't interested because of the cap. It seems to me you can always make room but maybe that is what I learned from Shanahan, the master cap manipulator.

If Denver front loads the contract, it isn't that bad of a deal--assuming Denver thinks Manning can return to All-Pro form.

I hope we still try to make a play for Finnegan, i'd love to see him come to Denver.

Get the Manning deal done already. Wonder if it's going to include Clark and Wayne?

At any rate attack the D asap - corner and a safety....please

I think this is good news.

I didn't see us trying to sign Reggie, and if another team did...Peyton might have been swayed. The colts aren't going to sway him.
