It's not sweet at all - esp. if you use real pineapple and not the canned stuff, and it's barely drinkable. I know plenty of people who can't even drink it, but it's nuval is through the roof.

Chickory is the same thing as endive. It's a staple in salads in the Netherlands... the root is kind spicy and is used to make root beverages. The leaves taste kinda like iceberg lettuce with a tad of bitterness.

It's the carbs that kill me in it. When I mix up juices/smoothies etc. I have to add up the carbs in each item, check what my blood sugar is, then take insulin according to the carb count, Being type 1, fewer carbs = less insulin.

Pineapple adds too many with everything else. I like a lower total carb count. I love pineapple tho!

Got mine. I like it. Made pina coladas with rum, real pineapple, and coconut. Pretty good.

AND WHATEVER YOU DO

Make sure the lid is on tight BEFORE you turn it on. My kitchen looks like a strawberry waterpark at the moment.

Bought this bad boy and couldn't be happier. Makes amazing smoothies. Haven't used it for anything else yet but it can do a lot more. It also came with 2 single serve cups as well. Awesome blender if you don't want to spend $499 for a Vitamix.

This isn't the exact one I got but it is a Ninja.

Just whirled up a fresh tree ripened mango / locally harvested coco nut water with spoon meat, tossed in a few pieces of of pineapple and a bunch of ice.

Nectar from the Gods.

Dump a little rum in there and you've got something.

I used to drink rum and it made me crazy. I could handle any other alcohol pretty OK but run really made me crazed.

Haven't had a drink of alcohol in almost 20 years not gonna start now.

Best summer drink ever.

Cut up some watermelon and toss in VitaMix, blend, strain, serve with a sprig of mint,

As easy as 1 2 3

I bought a blendtec blender last year, love the thing. This morning I was making my fav a spinach shake and got an error message, overload! Tried a few more times same thing. Called customer support and it turns out it came with a 8 year guarantee! I should get a remanufactured one in about five days. No shipping no store just return the old one with a pre-paid shipping label within 30 days. I'm very happy with it, it makes the best margerita's and smoothies! Thought I'd share this with the O'mane brothers.

I have a new Blendtec and a VitaMix. The ViteMix is over 20 years old and although the Blendtec is a fine appliance it's the VitaMix I use every day.

I like to be able to control the speed and time. I don't really care for the pre programed cycles on the BlendTec but I do like the container on the BlendTec better. It's probably more habit than anything else for me and the VitaMix.

Oh and if I go on an extended trip i take the BlendTec, it's lighter and travels much better. I take my Nutri Bullet http://www.nutribullet.com on short trips.

I just learned this today but did you know on the soup setting that just the friction of the blades mixing the ingredients heats the soup up too hot to eat if you run at least 3 cycles.

What are some good recipes for someone just starting out? I'd like to try things that are more vegetable than fruit. My goal is to lose weight and have more energy. Thanks in advance!
Vodka! (maybe add some orange juice )

HERE IS A GREAT SMOOTHIE;

Water from a young coconut (about 2 cups)

raw Cashews or raw Macadamia nuts; 1 cup

Dates; 5

cup of spring water

Strawberries; about 10 or 12

Ice if you like your drinks cold

Blend until smooth

Drink with (glass) straw.

Die and go to heaven / that's what you will think happened.

EDIT; Forgot the nuts

You might want to avoid heating your drinks too hot. Anything over 118 degrees F. will kill the enzymes seriously lessening the nutritional value of your meal.

If it's just the cord you can fix it in about ten minutes for about 4 dollars

Send it back to VitaMix corp I bet they will fix it for free that have a great warrantee or take it to a small appliance repair guy. You do not want to reverse the wiring polarity.
