It struck me this morning that Tebow is positioning himself for a career in politics. The squeeky clean image, the reputation that has raced far ahead of his accomplishments on the field, etc. The guy is a demigod in the SE, and could probably be elected Governor in Florida right now if not for age restrictions. Football is a stepping stone and a platform for him to get his word out, little more. I wonder how important it really is to him beyond his initial enrichment and spreading his fame. Kind of scary, really. Tebow for president? Yikes.

At any rate, does anyone really know much of what he thinks about anything? He couches his answers very carefully in interviews. The Tebot comes out and answers for him. We all know the positions he's made public, but very little else.

ever notice that the Tebow haters invariably belong to either or both of these groups?
1) atheists and Jesus-haters 2) far left moonbats, progressives/socialists, marxists, communists, and America haters |

Tebow's just a weeeeeee bit more Billy Graham than Tammany Hall. I don't really see politics in his future unless he thinks it can further the gospel better than being outside the political realm. He will leave the door open, but I just can't see him going that route.

Ah. In order to be governor of Florida, one must be 30 years old, and have lived in the state for the previous 7 years. I could see him maintaining an offseason home in Fla for that purpose. He could exercise huge influence from such a platform, including advancing his religious ideals. I see it as highly possible. Unless he just wants to start a ministry, he's going to need a platform from which to wield influence and, frankly, power. |
