Default Tebow Haters...Why Do You Hate Tebow?

We all understand what Tebow is as a QB. He's a developmental player who has had games that have been spectacular in both inspiring and deflating ways. Extremely high highs and low lows. However, the potential there is undeniable. If Tebow pans out, the Denver Broncos become Americas team for the next 20 years and probably win some trophies.

So while Tebow haters like to snipe at Tebow with incessant comments about throwing and completion percentage, etc, it is quite possible with many of them that there is deep-seated underlying irritation that drives their bitterness and their rejection of even the idea that Tebow can succeed. The idea that people can have that much hate toward Tebow because of the way he plays football just doesnt make sense and doesnt seem like a legitimate premise.

Is it the UF thing or otherwise college-related?

Did he steal your favorite college players' hesiman?

The media hype?

The people who root for Tebow?

Are you an Orton fan?

Is it related to Josh McDaniels because Tebow was drafted by him?

Is it his spiritual nature?

Is it his association with conservative causes?

It's because he struggles to complete passes under 20 yards. I love the kid as a person. I think he's great for sports.

Your thread is now over.

exaggerate much?

Even if he pans out, he'll be lucky to play another 10 years at this pace. I've compared his play to that of Steve McNair's and can really see a similar career path, if he makes progress as a passer. Even then, though, he'll always take more punishment than a Manning and will have his career cut short. And, as soon as he's gone, so does the "Americas team" potential IMO.

Could be that in the winning games, except for the Minnesota game, he sucked for 3 and 1/2 qtrs until the oppostion went into a soft prevent zone allowing him to run around making plays. But in the last 5-6 games they played him the same way the whole game and he sucked pretty much the whole time and they lost. Except the Pitt game, but i'm probably just projecting who knows why

You haven't given him a chance at all. You're one of the type of haters I'm talking about...one that cant praise him at all.

I chalk yours up to being an OU fan disappointed by the Natl. Title loss.

Ummmm, yeah. Even if I concede that, how does that effect what I wrote above? That still leaves 19 and a half years and he's got maybe 10 years left in the league, if he improves his passing.

You said 20.

Actually, he particularly struggles to complete passes over 10 yards:

Tebow averaged an NFL-high 12.3 air yards per pass attempt this season. But he struggled on those throws, completing an NFL-low 33.6 percent of his passes more than 10 yards downfield.

And for the record I like Tebow. I'm just not convinced he's going to cut it as an NFL QB, as much as I hope that he does. People like the OP can't understand how you can both like somebody and have doubts about them at the same time, but then the OP isn't really the brightest bulb in the box.

Because of you, angry llama. To plagerize lincoln, if I could get rid of Tebow to begone of you, I would do so. If I could keep Tebow and be gone of you, I would do so. If I could only keep part of Tebow, and be gone of you, I would do that as well.

Oh Jesus Ezekiel Jesus...

TJ asks for substance and we keep getting the same thread about the same damn thing. Not everyone is going to like Tebow. Who gives a flying monkey testicle why? Much like the Cutler debates we already know eachother's arguments.

Can't we all just get along?

Ok, 10-20 yards is the Bermuda Triangle. So QB draws and ****itI'mgoindeep are the remaining options.

If Tebow plays for 10 years, the fans that are generated will remain for another decade. Its what happened to the Broncos with Elway (thats how I became a Broncos fan living in Oklahoma), it happened to Pittsburgh, and more of a reasonable comparison is Dallas with Staubach.

i think it would also be interesting to see how many people would like TT to be their son or son in law. I sure would.

I don't want him to be President though.

As for QB, ONLY time will tell. Bradshaw sucked early on too.

Ask yourself this

What would you be saying if Tebow was on another team?

Would you still have all the praise?

Add "he wont be a successful long term QB" to the list and I am sure you will get some votes.

I disagree.

All the new "Tebow fans" that are temporarily Broncos fans because he's with us will disappear either immediately or within a year or two after he's gone. If he's traded or cut any time in the next few years, they'll definitely be gone day one.

Broncos were "Americas Team" for one day and one day only during the Elway years: our win against GB. Every non packer fan wanted us to win that one, badly. After that, people largely wanted to see someone else win it. Just like the Pats after us. They had that title in 2001. After that, everyone wanted them to lose.

Nobody stays "Americas team" for 10+ years anymore. People get sick of the same teams winning.
