CJ Anderson
Default Is this the year...

...Champ moves to Free Safety? Champ is the best athlete we have on defence besides Von Miller, but Champ looks like he's lost a step against the elite WR out there. I don't know about the crop of CB's coming out of the draft or Free Agency. It would also mean that we would have to pick up atleast one Cb from Free agency and we would have to spend big money. Big money we may not have. Or we keep Goodman UKE: and draft a CB early in the draft :/.

Paul Ernster

one way we need a safety, the other we would need 2 corners, were better off leaving him on that island, he did just fine this season

Champ is still a top 10 CB in the league, at worst. He doesn't need to move this year and probably won't need to move for another two or three years after.

We do however need to add a legit #2 who is ready to start next year. That means probably a free agent signing. Grimes (ATL), Carr (KC), and Porter (NO) are all good options for that.

Then we need to add a rookie EARLY in the draft who has real #1 potential that we can develop into Champ's eventual replacement. Ideally someone with the size to handle all the gigantic TEs we now have to face (6'0" or taller). Team him with Harris to fill nickel and dime duties. When Champ does eventually need to move to safety or hangs it up we have his replacement waiting in the wings, groomed and ready to produce. By then its entirely possible Harris will be ready for the #2 role as well, meaning we'd have two young CBs starting and just need to keep good depth behind them going forward.
