Special Teams Chokes 2 Weeks in a Row - The Orange Mane

The kicker and the punter are the only Special Team players above reproach. Everyone else on the ST unit gets an "F" for this week and last week.

Can anyone tackle? Apparently not.
How many blocks in the back are too many? 4? 5? 6?
Didn't we blow an extra point last week?
Cosby can't get the ball past the 12. Willis can't get it past the 18.

WTF is going on with Special Teams? They stink!

Royal needs to be full time kick and punt returner. And I agree, guys need to tackle.

Pathetic outing for the coverage teams. I can't remember when there was a real threat back there on returns. It's depressing.

When was the last time our coverage team wasn't suspect? When was the last time that you, as a fan, set back there and thought to yourself during a return "Yeah, we got this."

Actually, our coverage teams have been very good all year. That's why this recent breakdown is even more perplexing.

The whole team needs to get its act together or they will be watching the playoffs at home, though with the way they are playing, a quick exit from the playoffs seems likely right now if they make it.

Glad to see Royal returning kicks and hope it becomes a full time thing for him. He has clearly shown his potential there.

Also glad to see Cosby inactive and that his stupidity did not go unrewarded.

Rep will be sent. Darrien "Flash" Gordon was one of my favorite Broncos.

And I agree: he was the last ST guy who could regularly break a game wide open all by himself (both as a returner and as a ball-hawking corner). Royal has done it in fits and starts, but he's not consistent like Gordon was.

Yep, our coverage teams were great until 2 weeks ago. Yesterday they looked like a bunch of harmless idiots running around.

Huge difference in the game...the reasons for our loss:

4 turnovers - 2 for TD's
Poor Special Teams Play
Our Safeties

Fix those things this week...and we beat the Chiefs. Repeat those things this week and we're at hope watching Chokeland in the Playoffs!

Tebow needs to play conservative ball, look at how he performed when he needed to air it out. 4 ****ing turnovers. The safeties aren't going to get fixed anytime soon, that is unless Dawkins can play and stays on for another year or 2. The 2 draft picks have looked ****ing horrible thus far and that is no surprise to me considering we ignored the best DL class in years in last April's draft, yet overreached on the worst safety class not once but twice.

It says a lot when a guy comes in off the street and basically starts for Denver at nickle.

The playoffs start this Sunday, just win the ****ing game Fox.

This goes to about coaches making adjustments. At this stage of the season, there is plenty of tape of what you do and what you don't, so making adjustments is key to make your playoff run. Considering how bad the Broncos have finished seasons the last few years, adjustments have not been very good by Bronco coaching staffs.

You left out converting 3rd downs. We were 2/13. That's not going to get it done.
