Default Tebow's Religion: Fair Game

Interesting read which should spark some happy good time discussion...

Quote:
I don't know what this means in the grand theological scheme of things, but the best play Tim Tebow made yesterday came in the third quarter, when his athleticism and his brains kept him from looking foolish on SportsCenter replays from now until the final trumpet sounds. With Denver already far behind New England, the Broncos had the ball on their own 2-yard line. New England's Brandon Deaderick got in clean and had Tebow wrapped up for an obvious safety, but Tebow fought him off and got free, dropping the ball in the process. He picked it up and circled deeper into the end zone with a couple of Patriots still in pursuit. They had open shots at him, too, but they couldn't bring him down, and Tebow still had enough left to throw a pass across his body with enough ginger on it that he avoided an intentional grounding penalty.

That was his best moment. Through a combination of athleticism and intelligence, he avoided a safety and he avoided a penalty. Otherwise, his team might have lost 43-23. Nevertheless, it was the most exciting play for no gain that I've ever seen.

And here I was thinking the Tebow drama would die down...

I prefer Deadspin's take to that gasbag Simmons:

"As others have documented, Tebow's miracle wins were enabled by the Broncos' stout defense, and by boneheaded opponent mistakes and a fantastic field-goal kicker. It also helped that Denver played a bunch of mediocre teams; the combined winning percentage of the opposition in Tebow's seven wins is .428."

I wonder what the winning pct. is for Brady's wins this year.

I didn't read the entire article, so maybe I'm missing something. But from leading the excerpt you included, I can't, for the life of me, understand what it has to do with Tebow's religion.

So, I'm starting to get the feeling you're an unpleasant drunk. You aren't all that irritating when you're sober. You're a complete asshat when you're drunk - there have been a few occasions where I'm like, "How come I never noticed this douchebag before?" Your spelling and grammar seem to be bad, on those occasions - almost as if you are slurring your virtual words.

Do I have that about right?

Great question ...

And the winning percentage of the opponents Brady & the Patriots have beaten this year is 45.9% (90-106) ... a mere difference of 3%.

One of my favorite statistics quotes is "torture numbers and they will confess to ANYTHING"

I am flattered that you're sitting around analyzing the content of my posts, theorizing about my state of intoxication and wondering what I'm like in real life.

Let's just, you know, not have you follow me too closely, okay Richard Ramirez?

I'm just pointing out the obvious - trying to give you credit for being more than the absolute turd most people assume you are. I only actually remember people here if they are consistently solid contributors, or colossal a-holes. Everyone else falls into the vast middle ground. You've been memorable lately by falling into the latter category - congratulations on that. I am trying to give you the benefit of the doubt.

I never get why someone would invest time into a community when 1) they don't seem to share the beliefs that identifies the community (e.g. "Bronco fans), and 2) they are reviled by most in the community. At least an overt troll can say, "I like a different team. I enjoy your revulsion, because it helps me identify with my team."

People like you seem to feed off of people hating you, because you simply like negative energy. That's a pretty sad, despicable existence. At some point, you would think you would just lose interest, and go somewhere else. - which, you know, would be great.

I thought it was a pretty good game, ruined by some unfortunate turnovers in the second quarter.

Other games I noticed this week, the jets getting blown out and the Stealers getting blown out. Anybody talking about their QBs and how much they suck? Sanchez throws 2 picks and only has 150 yards, while the rapist fumbles on his 5 and throws 3 picks.....on the way to 3 whopping points. I guess they aren't very good without their concussioner (who happens to have trouble with his grammar when tweeting.....how do the announcers let that idiocy go? I'd love to have Cosell back every now and then for a laugh)
