Default Liberalism’s problem in one graph

Quote:
That’s via Gallup. To some degree, it’s not clear how much these data tell us about elections. We look to be resuming a three-decade trend that was briefly interrupted by 9/11 and the financial crisis — and Democrats won plenty of elections during that period. But so far as liberalism goes, this is a pretty devastating graph.

Given the right's endless drumbeat of "The gubmit is the enemy" over the last 30+ years, it's not surprising.

On the other hand, folks think Big Biz is more of a threat than Big Labor - 3:1 or so. That doesn't offer you a lot of succor.

No kidding. All this tells me is that the Right's media blitz is working. If they were selling shampoo, the numbers would be about the same.

The funniest part is that Fox lemmings like UltimateDoDo are blissfully ignorant of the fact that "big labor" is responsible for the forty hour work week and most other worker rights and protections they take for granted.

GOP Clown Car in Iowa
Isn't it time they just drove away?

Link

Get the hell out of Iowa.

Just pack up and leave. Tell it to the snake-handling hayshakers who make up your party's base in that otherwise lovely state: So long, and thanks for all the corn dogs.

Sneak out in the dead of night.

Sneak out in the dead of noon, with brass bands playing and fireworks bursting overhead.

Just get yourselves out of Ames. If Bachmann or Santorum want to stay out there and chase Jesus through the dairy barns, let them. Get your party out of there before it loses what's left of its mind.

Just this morning, Chuck Todd had a panel on to discuss the state of play out there. He made the point that the "evangelicals" who make up a substantial portion of the people who will be voting in the "crucial" Iowa caucuses have their own networks within which they will make their decisions in three weeks, and that they are untouched even by the blandishments "of Fox News."

In other words, the first serious event in the winnowing out of the GOP field will be largely in the hands of people who consider Sean Hannity either too godless, or too intellectually challenging, or insufficiently conservative. The panel went on to discuss this judiciously, as a matter of political reality. But, really, that in itself is an indication of something, and it's not a healthy situation to find yourself in.

Actually I'm quite well rounded, I do not just listen to Fox whom frankly I find to be more center than any and all of the other left to really fare left news sources..

I keep an open mind on most subjects until I have all the facts on them..
hell, I'm a member of move on.org one of the founding members. Have hosted their plotting meetings..

but I find their daily talking points way to liberal for me..

I find that anyone with half a brain, does not need to refute their MBE..

I'm kind of a guy that believes "kill them all and let God sort them out.."

That's basically like the Taliban calling Ahmadjihad a liberal. And these are the people who will decide the next presidential candidate? I've got to figure out a way to get out of here before the roundups start.

While in Dubai I met a US businessman who was returning to the states from Afghanistan. He works for a US firm that provides support to the US military.

While in Afghanistan he required an armed guard for his personal safety.

This guy was the stereotypic ugly American -- a huge paunch -- condescending attitude toward the natives -- selfish -- arrogant

It was a revelation.

Why do the wars go on and on? Simple. We have built up a huge corporate establishment that feeds at the federal trough.

The business of the US is now war. This is why Obama's latest declaration that the Iraq war is over is almost laughable. No -- it will continue.

It won't be over until we retool the war machine -- and transform swords into plowshares.

This is why we need a new Manhattan project -- to solve the energy crisis. Give the corporate establishment a reason -- other than war -- to exist.

Give the national weapons labs a new mandate. Peace. Not war.

Still no attempt to refute anything he said.

And Fox News represents the political center?

I suppose it must seem that way to a guy like you who lives smack dab in the center of the Bubbaverse.

December 16, 2011 10:30 am ET

Fox News' Fox & Friends made considerable contributions to the field of conservative of misinformation throughout 2011. The efforts of co-hosts Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson, and Brian Kilmeade -- as well as their rotating cast of fill-in hosts and Curvy Couch guests -- have made Fox & Friends the top misinformer on Fox News in 2011.
