Default Theoretical question

If you were Elway and the colts offered to trade their first round pick this year for our first round pick and Tim Tebow, would you take it?

follow-up: Would the actual Elway take that?

Personally, I'd laugh in their faces. But Elway loves Luck, so he wouldn't even hesitate to take such an offer.

Of course, why the Colts would want Tebow to back up Manning is a mystery to me, but I'm guessing you weren't going for realism with this scenario.

I was just curious. I was talking with my GF (she is a colts fan) and after saying "they wouldn't put him on the madden cover would they?" about 5 times I asked her the question from the colts perspective.

p.s. I'll accept the harassing being as I'm new to the forum and not a puppet.

*sigh* I have been a bronco fan since 1987. I will start threads whenever I want to start threads, and you can bite my shiny metal ass. I don't have to earn the right to post something here. Go blow a goat, and rub one off in your parents basement. Then come back and maybe you'll feel better about yourself. Until then keep on trollin' and thinking you are cool and clever. Just remember that nobody likes you, has ever liked you, or will ever like you.

You're getting close to a ban by using personal and family attacks. Keep it up.

oh no, you have so many posts I should be scared. Listen man, I asked a reasonable question and 4/5 replies are nothing but harassment. Good luck saying that's a personal or family attack. Johnny Cochran (R.I.P) couldn't make that connection. Unless you're saying you are related to a goat, in which case I apologize.

P.S. on a side note, I fail to see a mention of any names in my response, so "Me thinks thou dust protest too much"

I had some great wings tonight. Honey hot. Spicy but with a nice hint of sweet at the end. Just perfect.

You're both dorks and this thread is stupid. Why the F would the Colts want Tebow? Answer that so we can have a premise.

I'll answer seriously, as to be honest I don't think you are being a douche unlike the usual new suspects, ie Broncbow, MacGruder.

I would not do it as I would recognize Tebow has the potential to make this franchise one of the top 5 in sports for the next 10 years. We are looking at even if he goes 2 - 2 in the next 4 games we will have a great shot of hitting the playoffs, so Tebow will have helped QB a 1 and 4 team to a 8 and 3 record, 9 and 7 overall (I think it will be 9 and 2 and 10and 6 personally) record and a home playoff game. That deserves a shot in 2012.

Tebow has shown he can be special and has helped this franchise be relevant. Everyone wanted to see growth? Well we've seen it. Use that 1st round pick for a area of the team with a REAL need. MLB. DT. Secondary.

I'm going to St Louis (well, the IL side, but STL area) over Christmas and the casino we always go to is doing a thing where if you can finish their platter of wings in 15 mins or something, you get all sorts of accolades and free wings for a month. I can do decently hot wings but I wonder just how hot they must be for such an offer to exist. I've been deliberating for like a week on whether to try it or not and all it's done is left me with a non-stop craving for wings. The problem is that no home-made wing can touch restaurant/bar wings so I'm always disappointed. Spend $$$ to go get some or go cheap but sub-par.

Because Tebow would sit behind Peyton quietly and not make any waves. He would also sell tickets.

I also think the question is more relevant because Elway would throw the entire draft plus Tebow to get Luck.

That's even dumber than your original question. Tebow has shown what he can do. The fans have seen what he can do. Someone trading the farm for Tebow to sit would be shooting themselves in the foot with a cannon. I'm sure Tebow would love ruining his next contract, as well.

And, no, a player sitting on the bench wouldn't sell any tickets.

I agree with you on all accounts. I think Elway is going to have to swallow his pride and keep him. If Denver wins a playoff game this year (I think we will) and Elway trades Tebow away, he is looking to get strung up. Tebow is just so wildly popular (not just in Denver) it's a career suicide to get rid of him. I do think ELway wants to get rid of Tebow though.

Just like Tebow's jersey was #15 in sales while he was on the bench right? Tebow wouldn't have to sit long because Manning only has a few years in the tank. This question was also asked from Elway's perspective.

Was there a ticket included in each of his jersey sales? Otherwise, the relevance is lacking in this argument.

Touche, but Jersey sales also makes money for the team.

So they'd pay the player... not to play, but so that THEY could be the ones selling the jerseys? Isn't the player and the league the only beneficiaries of jersey sales?

Elway would take Luck and then his house would be torched and he would have death threats. To get Tebow back, he has to give up Luck and the following year's first round pick. Since I like Elway, I would not do this pick.

It's hard to be an a-hole to the guy when he's not necessarily being mean... but just starting stupid threads. He'd really need to go full out monologue with this theory to have it blow up the way some other threads can.
