Denver is 3-2 in the division. Oakland is 2-2. So half game up? And this was not a great game to nurse a hangover through. **** my head hurts.

Division record, i think...

Doesn't matter, we have division record, conference record, and bigger point differential in head to head matchups.

I'll still take every advantage we can get right now. If we have to play the refs every week in addition to the other team I want all the insurance we can get.

We leapfroged Cincy's wildcard, by the way.

We hold the tie breaker with them thanks to that head to head win Orton fell ass backwards into early in the year.

It's conference record that's getting us that tie breaker right now. Tennessee beat us and Cincinnati beat them. I was hoping Buffalo would do us a favor. But with Miami helping us out I certainly can't complain.

I don't know what the statisticians are saying, but I think the Broncos playoff chances are pretty good right now.

We do. The tie-breakers are:

1st tie-breaker: Head-to-head, which is a tie

2nd tie-breaker: Division record. Currently Broncos are 3-2 and Raiders are 2-2, so the Broncos have a half game edge. If we beat KC at the end of the year then we'll have a 4-2 record and can guarantee at worst a tie in division record.

3rd tie-breaker: Record in games in common: Currently the Broncos are 3-2 in games in common and the Raiders are 3-3. If the Broncos win out, they will be 6-2 in games in common and win the tie-breaker here.

So if the Broncos win the next four they win the division. If the Broncos go 3-1, but beat KC at the end of the year then they would win if the Raiders also go 3-1.

Really the Broncos have an effective one game lead UNLESS the Broncos lose to KC at the end of the year and the Raiders beat both SD and KC.
