Default "Iron Sharpens Iron, One Man Sharpens Another"

"Denver coach John Fox asked Tebow to address the team the night before this AFC West showdown.

"He said iron sharpens iron and men sharpen other men. And I think that's totally true," Miller said. "He gave us a great speech. We came out (for the game) fired up. And that was a wrap."

...

Tebow was stopped dead in his tracks when told his speech on game's eve had touched the hearts of teammates. "It was a huge honor," Tebow said of being given the opportunity. "I just tried to share from the heart."

There are more talented squads in the NFL. But right here, right now, nobody in the league is playing with more heart than the Broncos."

No stats kept on this kind of football and it's confounding the "wise men" talking heads!

Default Conspiracy Theory: Reality

Tebow has inspired this team to play better. But for some reason the glory is being hyjacked from Tebow by John Fox and John Elway. It is as if they are hell bent on insuring that Tebows pasing game, is the last thing that takes the Glory off the field. This has been the mantra since Elway Brought John Fox in this season.

The emperical data speaks for itself. There is now a body of work that actually exposes the conspiracy not to just stunt Tebows development, but to shut down Tebows passing game.

It's encouraging to see Fox embracing Tebow's leadership by asking him to do that. That's not something a coach does unless he believes in a player. Now if only he would open up the ****ing offense a bit...

Takes the "Glory" off the field? Isn't winning the ultimate "Glory?" Shut up. That's it.

Seriously dude, just stop. God knows I'm not a fan of how EFX have handled Tebow on or off the field, but it isn't an evil conspiracy to destroy the kid. It's people making mistakes. That's something people are very good at generally speaking.

I wouldn't say that John Fox is hijacking anything. He put Tebow in as the starter, restructed the offense to help him succeed (in spite of conventional wisdom) and now has asked him to address the team. I would say he has embraced Tim Tebow...maybe it took longer than some of us wanted, but he's setting the kid up to succeed.

Elway is doing his job. Maybe we'd like him to soften his comments a bit. My take is who cares (right now) about the QBOTF...we have the QB for RIGHT NOW and are in the playoff hunt. My personal preference is to set aside all that talk and focus on right now. With that said though, whatever they are doing, it is working....keeping the pressure on TT might be part of the success. We know he excels under the pressure...so why change it now?

Nice link, but really it's just fluff IMO.

1. I've never heard a speech that was so good it got me pumped up 18 or so hours later. A halftime speech can certainly carry over to the 2nd half of a game, but the night before?

2. They came out so fired up they promptly went down 10-0 and didn't score until there was less than a minute to go in the first half.

When a man tells me he was inspired who am I to argue? How is it your place to say because you fail to have things carry over that other men are as lame?

Regardless of what it is, they need to STAY ruthless.

We can't let up now. The Vikings are floundering but still dangerous. We need to put them out of it early and do what Denver does best with keep away football.

5 games to go and we have a shot at this. But only if they stay vigilant and fierce.

And it makes me wonder what stats Fox/Elway are using to judge Tebow on

Would Rookie Elway have passed the E-VP Saint John Standards back in the day?

1st 7 Starts as a Bronco QB Comparison:

Elway --------- Tebow
2-5 ----W/L ---- 4-3
44.4% - Comp% - 47.2%
757 - Pass Yds - 1,177
1/9 --- TD/Int --- 10-4
37.2 ---- PER ---- 78.7

Those are no spurious or random stats, but rather the On The Field proven stats/facts.

And just maybe, that's a big part of the Tebow fans disgust at how Tim's been/being treated by some.

Duuuuude, relax! They're going to bench him soon, anyway. See, he's got this clause in his contract that escalates if he plays enough games.....................
