Default McGahee will practice Tuesday

The running back news for the Broncos isn’t all bad today.

Starting tailback Willis McGahee has been cleared to practice tomorrow when the team holds its only full practice in preparation for Thursday’s game against the New York Jets. McGahee injured his left hamstring early in Sunday’s 17-10 win against Kansas City.

The Broncos released a hypothetical injury report today as required by the NFL, and it said McGahee would have been able to practice today on a limited basis if there had been a practice.

If McGahee’s hamstring holds up well in practice Tuesday, it is expected he would start against the Jets and be backed up by Lance Ball and newly-signed running back Jeremiah Johnson, who spent the first half of the season on the practice squad. Johnson was impressive in training camp and has won over his teammates as the scout team running back in practice.

The Broncos lost No. 2 back Knowshon Moreno to a torn ACL.

Let's hope his Hamstring makes it through today-

I really hope McGahee can play. That first drive was too easy with him running the ball.

Found this funny from Jermiah Johnson's draft profile:

Quote:
Will need to make adjustment from primarily lining up adjacent to QB in shotgun-heavy spread offense.
...or not.

McGahee is the key... but I'm liking JJ getting some game time too.

I am glad to hear he's doing better and will play. We do need him. And yes I know this is a simplistic statement, but it's all I got right now.

Sounds like all he did was warm up...didn't make it much past that

PostBroncos Lindsay Jones
McGahee did warm ups and stretching. But he no longer is wearing helmet as teammates go through individual drills. #Broncos

Yes. We'll see how Willis progresses by tomorrow RT @mdotozzy: Does this indicate, to you, we may see another heavy workload for Lance Ball?

He was supposedly available to keep playing if something happened to Ball in the Chiefs game. I wouldn't expect him to rip off any big runs though.

Willis Vader finds your lack of faith disturbing.

The guy I don't ever expect to rip off big runs is on IR. Now I fully expect a big game from McGahee along with some nice carries from JJ.
