Default Photo Camera @ the Stadium

Hi !
Im going to my first Bronco Home game against the jets. But i do not know if i can take my dslr in the stadium .
That ist my camera
http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-D3100-Di...1338238&sr=8-1

that stands on the stadium site
Yes. Hand-held still camera photography is welcomed at events for non-commercial personal purposes. Cameras and lenses must be of a reasonable size, as determined by Sports Authority Field at Mile High management

Well i dont know what lenses is reasonable size?

Has somebody experience with cameras like this at the stadium ?

Thanks
P.S i know there is a 100 post rule but this one is important for me. sorry

I would call (or in your case email) the stadium and ask. Let them know you are coming from Germany and want to take some great photos for your first visit to Denver. Sell it really good and maybe they will give you a special pregame pass to get on the field. Maybe get some credentials from your local newspaper in Germany so you can have media access and bring the biggest camera lens you own. Good luck.

I took my D300s into a game at Invesco a few years back, they didn't care.

How do you get what I posted from being a smartass? I am actually telling him what he should do! If I am working at the stadium and I get a call from a guy in Germany coming all the way to Denver to see his first football game and asks if he can bring a big lens, I am not only saying YES! but also let him take some shots on the field. THey are trying to go global and what better way to extend your fanbase with a special gift to an obvious passionate fan. Shame on you Sassy for not thinking I was being sincere (or not thinking I had a good idea). Remember, I have snuck into 2 SBs, clinching game 6 of the Ducks Stanley Cup and Angels Game 6 in the 2002 World Series. Only difference is I would have a bull**** story with the fake accent; His story is legit.

I've seen quite a few people with DSLRs in various areas of the stadium. Most are entry level cameras with the "kit" lens. I've seen others with superzooms, but those aren't going to allow enough speed (f stop) to get decent shots during a night game. I think there was some kind of caveat about not having professional lenses. You may have difficulty if you try to take in a 70-200 f2.8 or zoomier lens. Nikon does have this lens; http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-80-200mm...1341886&sr=1-8, which looks like it may be a little smaller or appear less pro. I'm not too sure. I shoot Canon.

Sassy really seems to struggle with deciphering people's intent/tone online. I'm not sure if she's just reading things too quickly or was just away for too long. Yesterday, she thought Dom was serious when he was very obviously joking and here she completely misinterpreted your serious post and thought it was a joke.

Good grief....Can I not give people a little crap. I know John...and he likes to give people a bad time so if I took it that way so what. People are more than a little sensitive these days.

The jerseys...again who cares.

I tried taking my Nikon D70 with an 18-70mm lens into a game back in 2005 and I had to take it back to the ****ing car because they wouldn't let me in with it.

I was parked about 1/2 mile away and the game was almost ready to kick off.

I wasn't happy about it, as the lens is not all that big.

Maybe the policy has changed since then....or maybe the security dude had a stick up his ass that day.

I had my Nikon 18-200mm on my D300s, but it's a relatively compact zoom for that focal length range.

Yeah, that's what I meant about the superzooms; they telescope and are pretty compact and innocent looking at 18mm. The typical 70-200mm (f4 or f2.8) are quite a bit longer, and in the case of Canon, white.

Yeah, true. I was all jazzed to get great pictures until I realized I'd need to be down at field level with my 200mm to get the shots I wanted to get.

Heck, I wish I had a nice 70-200mm, but I kinda doubt it would be allowed in if your equipment looks like you should be down on the sidelines/endzones wearing a red vest.

I should've dug this up for the OP last night.

http://www.sportsauthorityfieldatmil.../faqs/overview

Can I bring my camera to the game?

Yes. Hand-held still camera photography is welcomed at events for non-commercial personal purposes. Cameras and lenses must be of a reasonable size, as determined by Sports Authority Field at Mile High management. Tripods, camera lenses or any other type of equipment which may interfere with other fans enjoyment of the game is not permitted. The use of video cameras is not permitted at any time and may result in ejection. Other stadium events, such as concerts, may have different Camera/Video policies in place. Please check with us in advance to be sure what a particular events policy is.

I'm in Section 524. Two rows from the top of the stadium. I must be like the dirt under said peasant's toenails.
