Default Our Roster after the Bye: What will it be?

With all the rumors of trades involving Dawkins, DJ and Lloyd, etc, swirling about...who do you think is gone (if any at all) and who do have starting in Miami?

You need to add a poll. If this are all true, I am sure one of them is gone. My feelings are that there isnt much backing up all 3 at the time.

I was doing that. You have to make the poll after the thread though.

Anything they do will resemble a mid season salary dump. Things stay as is.

He's been included in the DJ trade talk rumors to Philadelphia. If any team would want/need him, it's the Eagles. They'd be bringing back a fan favorite who is likely one of the most beloved players to ever suit up for them. Good PR, good leadership, familiarity with past success, etc.

In-season trades are so rare in the NFL...

I saw Shefter was chatting up an Orton-to-MIA deal and a DJ/Dawkins-to-PHI deal (but I was in BWW and the sound was off)

I think Lloyd was possibly traded as well - maybe to Buffalo?

BTW for those wondering before it's asked.

I didn't include Orton on purpose. I can't possibly imagine any team who would take on his salary, etc.

No one is likely going to trade anything of value for Dawkins given his age, so I think he sticks. Even if they want to trade DJ, his contact will probably scare away potentially interested parties.

I think there is an outside chance of moving Lloyd. He's playing for peanuts relative to his true value. If EFX is willing to settle on a 3rd, I think they won't have trouble moving him. If they demand a 2nd (as I think they should), I doubt anyone bites.

So, I'm going with "no trades" (none involving the three mentioned in this thread, at any rate), though I think there is an outside chance of moving Lloyd.

Lloyd's salary is damn near non-existent. Need a new gripe there.

So are they broke or not?

I thought everyone was convinced that this team is in dire financial straits... has that changed?

Because unless that rumor has suddenly gone away that what it looks like when DJ/Dawk/Lloyd are being offered up at the bye week.

If they're broke they'd be actively shopping a LOT of other players before Lloyd's contract.

The whole concept is sad, honestly - I'm not keen on rooting for the NFLs version of the Marlins.

That said, I'm not against moving any of these guys - they aren't part of the future plans (maybe with the exception of DJ)

I think Lloyd will be traded, but not the others. DJ is 29 and has good years left. Dawkins is a huge help for our young rookie picks. I don't think it's worth trading something that valuable. Vet WR's can jump right into new teams and perform. He has a great salary this year and he's already shown he wasn't a one year wonder.

Our depth at the WR position (even though it's sketchy due to health reason) and Lloyd being in the final year of his contract and our lack of intention to resign him is my reasoning for this.

No one is going any where. Most teams have their rosters set. If we trade anyone like Lloyd or DJ, it'll have to be to a team with a decent amount of cap space i assume. I'd much rather do it after the season is over.

I will break something if our roster includes Jimmy Clausen after the bye. That's all I have to say...

Makes sense. If we were to trade anyone I'd give up Lloyd though, so that's why I'm going that way. In reality, we probably won't do ****. I'd love a 2nd rounder for him.

If that were to happen, I can't imagine the meltdown.

IF it was a money thing--IF--it wouldn't be dumping Lloyd's current salary, but rather trying to get some value for him before definitely not paying him in the off season.

I was actually being somewhat serious. Champ is older but would bring back the best return. Really, I would trade as many as I could. I would love to trade him to a New England type contender for the right amount of draft picks. Champ would be able to play in some meaningful games too. Money wise it probably doesnt work.
