Default Captain Orton

So Orton is a team captain and is still doing the captain thing, like leading stretches in practice. Does this need to change or has anyone heard the team say anything? How many captains have been on the bench through the years? It just seems weird that one of the leaders isn't even playing.

I know he was voted captain by the players but it may be time for a new vote. If they did re-vote, it would probably be a good idea to not name any QB captain since they have said Tebow can still lose the job this season.

I think a smart coach let's the players solve their own lockerroom seniority issues.

Plummer was captain the rest of 2006 after he was benched. This isn't uncommon.

I agree. The capatain patch really doesn't mean much outside of some coin flips and standing in front of everyone while the team warms up. It is just weird to think that a guy who was benched is supposed to be a leader.

"You need to lead us, just do it from over there!"

This is what I was wondering. I didn't remember what we did then, or what others have done. The post blog just made me wonder.

This thread is disappointing. I thought you had misspelled "caption" and was hoping for a funny picture.

We could always troll the thread and change it to that. Someone may have to come with a better picture though.

"Captain Orton" sounds like the lamest super hero ever.

What super natural power would he possess? Curling himself into an impenetrable ball when under attack?

I'm more concerned with the static stretching before practice.
