I'm serious when I say I wished he could have lived forever. Plus, I was kind of convinced he was going to live forever. Bummer.

Yeah, it was one thing to make fun of the guy, but RIP. He was an interesting owner and a character. He was a tremendous part of that franchise and the face of the NFL and will be hard to replace.

i predict a huge upsurge in demand for teardrop tattoos in Oakland, Los Angeles, and every local, state, and federal prison in the next 24 hours.

We all joked about it and knew it was coming but it is still kind of a shock. It seems like it came out of nowhere.

The guy meant a lot to the game and provided us with a hell of a rival for many years. My passion to beat Oakland trumps SD and KC ten fold and Davis had a lot to do with it.

RIP Al. For all his craziness he certainly made some great contributions to the NFL. As a Bronco fan I will miss him because I think he's held the Raiders back for the last decade.

We enjoyed making fun o fhim but Al Davis had a strong hand in helping Denver to get into the NFL as an equal francise/partner to the "old" teams. He was a blooming nut, IMHO, in his later years, but he was a football man. RIP you goofy old fart.

The legal battle over that franchise is going to rip it apart.

How so? Won't his son take control of his shares?

He meant a lot to the NFL. Makes a little more sense why he didn't vote in the most recent CBA. RIP, you were the biggest part of our greatest rival.
