Default Broncos rookie excused to deal with tragedy

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP)—Broncos rookie right tackle Orlando Franklin(notes) was excused Wednesday to deal with a family tragedy.

Franklin’s status for Sunday’s game against San Diego is uncertain. Coach John Fox had already addressed the media when Franklin apparently learned of the situation after practice.

Apparently his brother died, according to Broncosforums.

Oct. 05, 2011 4:23 p.m. - by Lee Rasizer - Tragedy strikes family of RT Orlando Franklin The Broncos locker room was stunned by the news that the brother of starting RT Orlando Franklin was killed Wednesday. No details were immediately available, but Franklin left to join his family and his status for Sunday's game is unknown. Coach John Fox already had addressed the media when the news hit. Chris Clark would likely replace Franklin.

it should for everyone. He makes the competition better. Everyone needs to try to stay up with Apple. Hopefully, they go on and be strong without him. We saw what happened to the stock when he stepped down a few months ago. I wonder what happens tomorrow.

Apple was up $5.75 today at just over $378 a share. I do not think it will go down on this news, only if the entire market takes a dump tomorrow. I have not looked at the futures yet so I can not comment on that. RIP

Unfortunately, first thing that came to my mind too.

Feel awful for Orlando. His brother was probably very young.

Sucks. Pointless way to go at 20 years old.

Hope Orlando doesn't get revenge in his head.

I agree it sounds like he was murdered or something like that. But he could have been killed in a car accident or something.

True. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Wouldve expected "died" "passed" etc if it weren't some sort of violence. Hope it wasn't.

It also had a low of 350 the other day . Tough news driven market, techs work, but yikes europe, jobs reports, jobs .
Back to #74, sad news. Never lost anyone close to me. My heart goes out to his family.

I don't think he will, despite the fact that he clearly eats babies and puppies he seems like a kid with his head on straight.

Tough to lose a kid brother though.

I feel for Franklin, and he should take off whatever time he needs. Best thing he can do is come back strong when he can and play in his honor.
