Default Will Andrew Luck be better than Aaron Rodgers?

Discuss. My guess is not quite but will be awfully close.

Neither are Broncos.

Until one or the other is...why debate it?

If this guy is close to the next Aaron Rodgers I would fully support putting Moreno and McGahee in at QB and running the ball straight up the gut and punting every possession for the rest of the year to get him.

Did anyone see his 1 handed catch?

Or Fox could put Tebow in to this and then respond during his press briefs that using Tebow just isn't working.

Better? Aaron Rodgers is basically playing as well as a QB can play right now. Luck might equal that (though I doubt it), but he isn't going to surpass it.

Who knew Rodgers would be on par with Brady and Manning. The guy is unreal.

It took the game yesterday for you to realize that?

i am of the belief that all QBs coming out of college have a better chance of being the next Leaf, Harrington, Akili, or Jamarcus more than I believe they will be stars. so until proven wrong i am in the he has a better shot at being the next Leaf camp.

As GOOD as Aaron Rodgers will suffice.

Hell, even a notch below would be better than anything they have now.

When I watch Luck I can't see how he will be anything but a stud in the NFL.

There are a lot of things that have to go right to get to level that Rodgers has achieved. Luck probably has the talent to do it, but you need hard work, good coaching, talent around you, good fortune with injuries, and a lot of other things to go your way.

I really wish folks would stop posting the Ryan Leaf options. There no indication that Luck behavior is anyway the same as Leaf immature act coming out of WSU.

behavior isn't what i am comparing Luck to Leaf in. i am just saying Luck gets talked about as the next Manning or Elway type of talk. not talk saying the next good NFL QB, the talk has him labeled as the next all time great. when anyone who has ever paid attention to football must realize he has a better chance of having a career like Leaf a guy who was once seen as a can't miss than he does of having a career like Manning.

The way Luck has been ascending it remind me more of the build up with Manning at Tennessee then sudden on the scene appearance of Leaf or Andre Ware.

At the top of his potential Luck as chance to be as good as Brady, Rivers, Rodgers and Manning at worse you get someone like Matt Hasselbeck, or Eli Manning (above average starters).

When you read and hear about Luck it not hard to understand why the scout and NFL front office are interested in selecting him. Film geek, low key personality off the field and strong teammate.

This. He's got all the tools needed to be a top tier Nfl QB, except nfl experience. Oh ya he can catch one handed passes too. Some team is gonna score a potential great franchise qb.

Leinart was talked about over the course of 2 seasons and has proven to be worthless. Harrington, Carr(who would have been good under better circumstances) also had hype. sure it is possible he becomes a Rodgers, Brady, Manning type, i am not saying it is impossible, i am just saying the overwhelming evidence of the draft says he has a better chance of failing.

i just can't get excited about any college QB. the ones seen as most promising generally end up sucking and overlooked guys seem to be the ones who end up really good. i know in recent years, Bradford, Stafford, Flacco, Ryan, Freeman have come out and looked good right away, but usually it doesn't happen that way and i will not hold me breath on Luck or any QB in next years draft or any draft for that matter

better? Prolly not. Maybe not even as good. But Rodgers is playing as well as the position is ever played right now.

Agree and it bears repeating. Rodgers is behind the success of the system he is in, but is also a product of that same system. How'd he look before they drafted all the stud weapons? It was a good thing for GB that Dallas knocked Favre out of that game...

You can't even say that Luck will be better than Orton. Which is part of the reason why not playing Tebow is so infuriating.

You could probably counter that argument that college now is more prone to developing NFL capable QBs as the last batch of QBs that has come out recently have really been able to step right in and succeed. Not all, but it appears a much higher number than in years past.
