Default Von Miller Is Good.

In the spirit of the bright side, let's all take a moment to appreciate Von Miller.

In 3 games he has 2 sacks and more importantly 2 forced fumbles. For a defense that hasn't been able to create a turnover in a long time (Champ's 10+ INT year, I'd say) this is very promising.

I know that 3 games is a ridiculously small sample size, but still, we need guys getting to the ball and taking it away from the offense.

Good work, Von. #millertime

He also has done a great job against the run and in pass protection. Tight Ends haven't done anything against us this year.

He's also done this without having Elvis on the other side. He's doing this despite facing constant double teams and chipping.

Von Miller has been a lot of fun to watch. I knew he was fast, but I've been really impressed by his strength. He does a really nice job setting the edge and taking on lead blockers in the run game. I think a #58 might be going on my xmas list.

Von also has a couple of tackles for loss.

What's so encouraging about Von is that he's accomplishing this stuff basically on raw ability. He still doesn't always know what he's supposed to do out there situationally.

Just wait 'til year 3 with Von. That's usually when young players get their heads around the game and play at or above normal game speed. At that point he could be the best OLB and pass rusher in the NFL.

I watched all 3 games and missed the sack #2 but I agree he is good.

Edit: the sack came with the FF

What's great about Von is his instincts. In the modern NFL draft you have dozens of guys with off the chart measurables, that just aren't instinctive players. Von Miller, like the Ray Lewis' and Clay Matthews' of the world has those instincts. The injury gods better not **** us on this one.

He should have 2 forced fumbles in today's game since britt threw the ball at him because von was getting ready to smack him.

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-h...rted-off-field at about :40 seconds you see the forced fumble by fear.

Just fill the holes. Von is a difference maker, and there aren't too many players in the league like him.

Nice thought, but it was probably the guy's knee snapping under him that did it. Von was right there, though. Besides the sack and the strip, he hit Hasselbeck at least twice ... not sure if they qualify as "hurries," but he is all over the place. He seems comfortable in the running downs, too from what I've seem.

He probably won't cut loose for another couple weeks. By all accounts rookie starters think too much at first, worried about making mistakes. I can't wait 'til next week cause I get to watch Von Miller again

Hopeful that this not only stays consistent, but even intensifies when Elvis returns.

I am happy with Miller. He will be a force for years to come. Obviously more help is needed since not much at CB without Champ and the rest of the DL is not doing much. Dumervil being hurt again does not help.

Von has a pretty substantial frame for an SOLB, don't you think Rev?

Yes barryr, wait 'til Elvis is back in the building ... stack 'em together, or one from each side.

epic I think he'll peak midseason this year, why not?

I am wondering just how much Dumervil can be counted on. He is smallish and now injured again.

Injuries was never a major issue in his career before last season. **** just went bad. Funny enough it was similar with Ty Warren.

This year I swear I am going to stuff the Pro Bowl ballot with at least 1,000 votes for Von Miller.

Hopefully they won't be, but sometimes just takes one and then it never seems to stop. The Broncos obviously need Dumervil healthy.

Well, the natural learning curve for players in sports is two seasons, and the player usually begins his term as a prime years player by the end of year three.

I'm just being conservative with Von, especially given that he had an unconventional offseason this year and he's going to have to do alot of learning on the fly.

As for his pure pass rushing ability...just his raw athleticism will probably get him double digit sacks this year. Could he break Jevon Kearse's rookie record of 14.5? That would be tough, but the crazy thing is...its not out of the realm of possibility with Von, and he's already off to that kind of start.
