We'll see how it plays out. CAR traded one of their main receiving targets Kelvin Benjamin, now they're going back to Cam running and short passing game to CMac? They're 7-3 and on a three game winning streak since trading Benjamin.

I think the FO and coaching staff were just tired of Benjamin and what they viewed as not giving full effort.
You have Funchess, McCaffrey and Samuel as receiving options so they cut bait. It's a new regime so they won't put up with the old regime's player issues.

The Panthers got a good return for a guy (Benjamin) who was 40 pounds overweight in the off-season and probably wasn't going to be resigned due to multiple issues with the staff. Probably the right move. Seems like a lot of teams were unloading receivers this year just so they didn't have to open up the checkbook for them.

Looking at Benjamin's stats, he's about a 51% catch/targets guy. 14.4 yds per reception for his career, 18 TD's playing in 41 games total. I wonder if they will miss him come playoffs. CMac can only cover a little bit of that, Benjamin only caught 51% of his targets, but 14.4 YPR. Another thing is blocking for the run game.

You need to check your stats again. He had two other years with more total yards.

We were only talking about receiving at that point.

Who are you comparing him to? The 3 WR's taken early? Do you want me to say I don't like those picks, either? Honestly, I don't now enough about any of them to comment. I know the guy the Chargers drafted is injured. But no, I'm generally not a big fan of WR's high in the 1st unless they're considered transcendent talents, just like I'm not a fan of RB's high. Fournette? He's been very productive and they were hoping/trying to find the next Zeke Elliot, so I understand the pick. I'm a QB/OT/edge/CB kinda guy in the first, which is also how most NFL teams approach it unless there is a need and/or special talent situation that pushes them elsewhere. CM is a talented kid who will probably have a very good career, but personally not the type of player I would target in the top 10.

They are going to get paid by their new teams though. I think I do get your point but I am old and tired and confused.

All in his rookie year.

Love that he ended up on a team that uses him for strengths. Broncos would’ve maybe targeted him 10-15 times in passing all year.

Kudos to panthers.

Our RB's have 68 combined catches this season, I'm sure that would have gone up.

You think CJ would’ve taken less snaps? Rookie RBs can’t sniff the field. He’d have far less snaps in Denver than Panthers. And mostly forced run plays.

Charles is best in the pass they barely went to him earlier in the year when it mattered.

Panthers offense suits McCaffrey. Broncos offense wouldn’t.

Let's see. CM has the same amount of rec as DT. He has more rec TDs than Sanders and DT. He has more rec yards than Sanders.

I think he needs a raise. Like 15-20 million.

Or most likely...you were just flat out wrong and saw him as a Reggie Bush lite instead of as a unique player in his own right.

dude is averaging 3.7 yards per carry as a change up back. 8 yards per reception. on pace for about 1k yards from scrimmage. lets not go balistic, thus far he's been the 5th best rookie back.
