Between the crappy style of play and super-team-via-free-agency thing I don’t get how people watch the NBA.

Worst NBA finals in a long time. You knew Cleveland was going to get swept or maybe win one token game.

It wonít happen because the NBA players Union is pretty strong but the NBA needs to institute a franchise tag to promote more parity.

If that were the case no one would ever have heard of Lebron James.

...as is usually the case when you dig deeper than simple ring-counting, things are more complicated than they initially seem. For instance: According to the pre-series Vegas lines, Jordan was favored in all six of his Finals bids, while James has been an underdog seven times in his nine trips to the Finals. One of the hallmarks of Jamesís career has been dragging terrible teammates to the brink of a championship (and none might have been worse than the crew he brought to face the Warriors this season). Thatís great for boosting a playerís tally of Finals appearances ó but it leads to a terrible record in the title round itself.

Because of this, any analysis of rings won has to account for the differing levels of expectation a playerís teams have going into each series. And by that standard, James has actually won more championships than weíd reasonably expect him to, even after falling to the Warriors this year. ...

James is an underdog often because people think he is a choker. Using Vegas odds prices in his losing reputation

Yes, I've noticed that some stupid people do think that. Smarter people know that he's played on a lot of over-matched teams.

The nba sucks so I couldnít care less.

But look at his titles

One in a strike shortened season

One on a miracle Ray Allen shot

One that the series was over and Green gets suspended

considering how the NFLPA is getting screwed by the franchise tag, you can bet the NBA players union isnít going to let that happen.

I'll still never understand how a guy who 1) sealed a Finals game 7 with a shot 2) helped seal another finals game 7 with the leagues most famous block 3) has the most post season buzzer beaters in NBA history 4) is the most prolific game seven player in NBA history is labeled a choker.

And pointing to this series, where he carried a sorry team across the finish line, is odd. People also seem to forget that GSW was a 73 win team BEFORE they added the great Kevin Durant.

I know it's the minority, but... just continues to surprise me. For whatever reason, he's the only superstar in basketball that NEEDS to be perfect. Perhaps after he retires, time will be kind to him.

Ratings were down compared to last year. ESPN embarrassed themselves trying to get people to care. Both conference finals were substantially more entertaining than the finals

I don't like the idea of super teams either, usually they get broken up relatively fast though because players can get paid more from other teams when a team has too many good players and can't pay them all the max. I think GS is probably close to have 3 max players though aren't they? That seems like 1 more than the norm than past great teams recently, except for Miami when they had James, Wade and Bosh.

Shane battier had a huge shot to stop Lebronís usual turnover prone late game choke job for his first one.

Some people watched the games and others researched their stats.

We know he was overmatched when he played the west. Welcome to Durantís life, Lebron. Youíre lucky you get a free ride to the finals so that fools can quote your playoff stats in the minors at least.

I like the actual sport of basketball. Playoff series between non-superteams can be great. But I feel ya. I'll never be able to fully buy in to the NBA until there's more parity. It sucks knowing exactly who's going to be playing in the Finals year after and year.

Or some people didnít watch games and subscribe to some weird narrative based on incredibly incomplete info and bias.
