i bet it's left vs right brain...i can get the girl to spin both ways depending on what I'm working or thinking about.

for the audio i can only hear Laurel.

but the first two times i could swear i heard "ya..laurel, ya..laurel", but now only laurel.

Still only hear laurel. I have no idea. I kind of weirded out about it. A lot like that twirling girl.

Did you watch that? What direction does she go to you?

I heard laurel. But then used that tool and hear laurel to the left, Yanny to the right.

Laurel. Normally I can hear/see both things when tests like this are done, but I can't make myself hear yanni.

I heard Laurel on the radio and on a cell phone, but Yanni on a computer.

Then again, yesterday on the Golic and Wingo show, they did this. I heard Yanny. That is all I heard. Golic, Golic jr, and the interns all heard Laurel, and yet Wingo heard Yanny too.

Later, I heard it on another show and ALL I hear is Laurel, and that is all I have heard since. I have no idea how I even heard Yanny at all. Yet, I remember thinking at the time that I heard Yanny.

To me it is a lot like this. This has freaked me out.

Is this woman turning in a clockwise or counterclockwise motion?

I am going to honest here. That has switched on me. To the point where it freaked me out a bit. I have seen it switch on me several times. It was not a trick either. In other words I went over the exact time (for example) that I had seen it twirling in a counterclockwise motion. I went over that same time and it was spinning in a clockwise motion.

Freaked me out and still does.

What do you all see with that. Clockwise or counterclockwise?
This is definitely not a trick of your imagination. The girl is clearly spinning clockwise through most of the video, with her left foot firmly planted down as the pivot foot and her right leg twirling around and disappearing behind her as her leg swing around so that her behind is facing you. When the video shows the words counter clockwise at 3:23, the pivot foot has clearly changed to her right foot with her left leg swinging around. So it seem clear that at 3:23, the rotation of the video was purposely reversed.

Now, here is the weird part... if I concentrate on ONLY the pivot foot, I can pretty much reverse the rotation of the feet at will, but the instant the I glance at the legs and torso, they are automatically going clockwise before 3:23 or counter clockwise after 3:23.

Even after glancing at the feet, I seem to make the dancer rotate opposite of what she's everytime I glance back and forth from her pivot foot to her swinging foot and torso. Back and forth, no matter what part of the video (prior to 3:23 or after) I cannot seem to get my brain to agree with the direction of her rotation while switch-glancing from pivot foot to swinging foot and torso.

****ing wierd ****!

For me it is counterclockwise throughout. However, staring at the foot, I blinked and all of sudden it was clockwise. That was at around 1:24 to about 2:15. I played the video again, and it was counterclockwise throughout. Never switched.

Yes, that has weirded me out for years.

Same here. I cranked up my sound to see maybe if somebody in the background was saying 'Yanni' and it was going to be one of those trick things, but the only thing I heard in the background was clicking. I listened 10 times in a row, never once heard 'Yanni' or 'Yanny'. The Youtube title says Yanni but the video says Yanny, lol.

I don't see how anyone hears "yanni". I can hear every phoneme of laurel as the word itself is all lower pitched as compared to yanni and I do not hear any of the phonemes of yanni. Especially the last phoneme l versus i. The l sound has a low pitch matching the audio as a short i has a high pitch- nothing like the audio.

How does anyone hear yanni? Doesn't make sense to me how anyone can make out any of the phonemes of yanni, let alone the entire word.

I remember just a few years ago everybody on Earth seemed to be debating something similar, the true color of that dress.
