Honestly, thats the people's fault. I still think its a deflection so they don't have to think about an uncomfortable topic.

, isn't the Mile High Salute more disrespectful to those in uniform? But all are cool with that because the well-paid minorities are entertaining them by scoring TDs and not pointing out issues with society?

how is that more disrespectful?

I just wish someone would show TD how to salute correctly.

I agree. But don't you then think the form of protest matters? By using the flag/anthem as a means of protest, it gave people an easy out to discussing uncomfortable topics.

Over the last week, I've heard very little about police brutality (initial point of protest), because it's been hijacked by the discussion on whether or not it's disrespectful to kneel during the anthem.

I'm pretty sure every player that did kneel said that it wasn't a protest against the flag, troops, or country. The main problem was I don't think people were listening. They just wanted to be mad and deflect in order to avoid the conversation.

I've heard that before.

One thing that is lost in all the noise is that Kaep and Brandon Marshall and others have actually reached out to military and police and have even change some of their actions to try not to show disrespect.

Great article a year ago about Kaep and some vets and how he went from sitting to kneeling so as to show more respect while maintaining his protest: http://www.espn.com/blog/san-francis...-affect-change

I think people will always find a way to avoid discussing uncomfortable topics. I also think last weekend's protest was more like... **** you donald trump...than police brutality.

Yup, like I said. Should've just worn a helmet sticker.

Then you would've heard the actual issues involved discussed against the backdrop of the NFL jerking into action to protect the purity of the sanctioned, authorized NFL uniform. Expression be damned.

It was.Trump won yet again. All he has to do is twit something and the media go ballistic, and start yammering about Trump instead of what he was twitting about. They really need a group sit down to game plan, cause what they are doing isn't working. Its funny watching the media just not get it.

I don't know about that because I don't know his overall goal. My guess is he doesn't have one.

Instead of figuring out why Tyrod and Co b**** slapped the no fly zone, and applying those adjustments with Carr coming, they are dealing with this ****. I bet they had a lengthy meeting a la Steelers about this.

Get your heads out of your ass and concentrate on the Raiders. Red white and blue shouldnt be the colors black and silver should be.

His goal is to make the media talk about him all day.

I think, no matter what the protest is, people will be pissed off.
I'm tired of having this argument. Disrespecting the flag during a football game is a dumb way to enact change in the country, and was nothing like the Civil Rights movement. You just admitted, it was more about reacting to Trump than it was about black lives having meaning, and based on the responses, was heavily divisive. I would be surprised if racial violence improves at all because of this.

"We have to do this" is one of the problems with the world today.

They don't get it. He's got the press and the liberals chasing a lazer pointer in the carpet, and all they can say is "Look how quickly we tore the carpet up last time!"

And the next day Trump pulls out the pointer. You know damn well, he tells folks, "Watch this.."

Only after they learn how to be a patriot. Something that should take 10 minutes about etiquette and the rest should be in their memory bank . The other issue might take waaaaay longer and some won't get it.
