Default Elephant in the room = DT

There is no doubt that he can make plays. He has also stamped his name in Broncos history. However has he become to much of a liability ?

The dude comes through with some amazing catches. The TD yesterday is a great example . But he has a bad case of the the DROPS. It's not this year either. It's been one excuse after another for the last 3 years or so. I'm not in the bench him crowd but I do think we should be giving Sutton way more of his touches. He seems to have also lost some of that YAC that he used to have as well.

What is his trade value at this point. We are in bad need of CB's and are thick at WR. Not saying I want to see this happen but it may be best for the future.

Go on now. Flame away .

Yes but I do believe this is probably thread worthy as he is our # 1 WR

I think the only trade that we could muster up is one like the browns did with Brock and we would need to give a team a mid rounder to take him off our hands.

He's had a bad start to the season. And I'm worried that hit yesterday aggravated his hip injury. Maybe he's trending down now. Still early. I want to give this offense more time to get in sync with each other. But some of these passes have been more than good enough for him to catch.

He can't be Brock bad. I mean the dude has mad skills. He's just in a bit of a slump. He still toted as a top tear WR.

I thought the last drop was a tough catch, his body was spinning and the ball was behind him. The easy 3rd and 3 drop and the one through his hands were bad. I didn't think the contact was as bad as he made out in the dropped deep ball but they call those 50/50 balls for a reason.

Glad we got Sutton. Might have to pay E next year and let DT walk.

Week 1 wasn't bad. But, yes, yesterday was bad.

DT has been dropping stuff for years.

I'll give him a couple more games before I write him off. That TD for DT last week was a big time play on his part.

I've been thinking of this more on the end of the season than now, choosing between if they should hold onto DT or Sanders.

Between Sanders play and fire as well as the fact that the Broncos have two big body WR's in Sutton and Patrick make DT to me as the right call to let go of (either by trade or cut).

Hamilton is the only other WR I see that compares to Sanders (obviously still early)

I just don't know if now is the time to do it (trade). Depends on how ready the team thinks Sutton is.

I do appreciate all of what DT has done for the team and as a fan, part of me would be sad to see him go.

Wake up. He hasn't been a threat of any sorts for years. CJ was our best offensive player the past couple of years.

I don't see us fooling any team into taking him.

Next year he's only a 3m cap hit if we cut him.

Any sort of threat? What? 2 years ago he caught 90 balls. Last year he caught 80. Just last week he caught an awesome TD that won us the game. Lol. Yes, he's not as good as he used to be, but pump the damn brakes.

My god, why does the Mane hate this guy?

I don't hate him. Just common sense. The past couple years we paid him very well, yet, bragged about getting a bargain at QB.

Frankly, he should have been long gone when we decided TS was our man.

And the guy never dives for a ball.

I think you're finding **** to b**** about. This thread makes it seem like he's a liability. And he's not proven to be that. He had a ****ty game. His first game was not ****ty.

Time will tell. But there's weird revisionist history going on about the past 3 years of his career.

Well I think you suck at money. His 10 TDs over 2 years is a complete joke in his pay bracket IMO. He hasn't been a threat in a long time.

That's a worthy criticism. But not being worth the money also does not make him worthless or a liability.

If anything you have to wonder where all the love for him comes from. He had 3 really good seasons out of 9.

Honestly my memory is so bad I can't recall. But he had 6 catches on 10 targets. So it couldn't have been too many!

Either way, I'm not saying he's not diminished, he is. But I don't think he's useless.

Oh come the **** on.

Okay, never mind. This conversation is stupid if you truly believe that. And going forward, who knows. Clearly he's not the same player. But I don't see the point of trying to trade him now.

Hey, if garbage stats are your measuring stick so be it. But his impact on the field has been meaningless the past 2 seasons. He's not a threat. He doesn't dive/layout after balls. And now even when they hit his hands, he can't catch em.

At least everyone agrees now that Sanders is currently the better WR. This offseason, that was blasphemy..but i digress. There is no advantage to getting rid of DT before season's end aside from giving young guys more touches but that would be foolish. DT won't be terrible every week and he is still a weapon.

Is it frustrating? Absolutely. But we need to be rational about it. Sounds like some of you need some cranberry juice.
