Don’t get your panties in a wad, the post was intended to be a little bit of sarcasm.

We all knew you would make a horrible GM, you keep proving us right. Even if you loved him, you could easily move down and still get him. Taking him at #5 is what a stupid GM would do.

We don't know if the Jets will take him at 6. If we want him, we need to pick him at 5.

I’d take him at at 5 without hesitation. I also would have cut Lynch, kept Sloter, and loled at Brock. Also I wouldn’t have made this thread.

You can post all the 2 year old links you want and it won't change the fact this would be a stupid pick at #5. Forget about Oz, Lynch or anybody else, this is about the #5 pick. There's not many people who think this guy is a top 5 pick. Maybe you and a few guys who would take it from you backwards like Tombostone, haha.

I wouldn't touch a Big 12 QB with a 10 foot pole.

Let someone else make that mistake.

It would be questionable, but understandable, with the 5th pick in the 2nd round. But with the 5th pick in the 1st round? Lol, no.

Patrick Mahomes was a Big 12 qb.

Seriously, the comments that dismiss an entire conference are really the dumbest and laziest things someone can say.

Mayfield will go top 10 at the very latest.

I wouldn't dismiss any player based on conference either. But we also really don't know much about Mahomes. We've seen less than 1 game. Dak Prescott looked all world his first year also, and then it all came crashing back down to reality.

It makes you think with Keenum, Bortles, and Foles in the championship game.

If he’s good, he’s good

I don't doubt some team is going to over reach for him (I pray it's not the Broncos). It happens every year. I suspect he'll go top 10 or top 15 also. But I don't think he's evaluated that high. But some QB desperate team is going to reach for him just like we reached for Lynch.

all respect to Mahomes, but Mahomes has proven nothing thus far as well. he looks good but nowhere near as good as Vince Young or RGIII were at the same point in their careers.

not 1 Big XII qb has shown he can transition to the nfl outside of Bradford.

the fact that every Big XII QB drafted in the 1st round thus far (past season excluded due to incomplete resume) is a huges red flag. you don't dismiss it entirely, but it's a colossal red flag. along with the size issue. along with the hand size issue. along with not showing he can make every nfl throw issue. along with the off-field issues. along with the immaturity issues on the field.

add it all up....and it's not a smart pick at 5.

You're going to hang your hat on Mahomes and call my comment dumb and lazy??

Lolol, okay.

Sam Bradford might be the best QB the Big 12 has produced for what it's worth.

He certainly wins the most money received with the least production award.

Yeah, I'm not expecting him to be available in the 2nd round. I just think he's being overvalued due to the level of QB desperation in the league. He's a great college football player, I mean him no disrespect. I just don't think he translates to a starting caliber NFL QB. But, hell, drafting QB's is practically like throwing darts blindfolded.

Yeah, that and Mahomes isn't 5-11 like Mayfield, and is considerably more mobile. In other words, there are some things to like about him that are concerns about Mayfield.

That sums things up quite nicely doesn't it. It's a crapshoot really. But it's true that teams will put higher value on QB's because it's such an important position and there are so many teams without a good QB or only mediocre QB's.

He flashed more in the 1Q of his only start than Paxton Lynch did in 2 full seasons.

He could be Russell Wilson. Hell, he could be better than Russell Wilson.

He could also be Johnny Manziel. I think his ceiling is very high but his floor is very low. Ultimate risk/reward type.
