Default Pick #40

Enough quibbling over #5, who would you take at #40?

Why?

An OT seems logical...but this is a bad year for them.

A lineman of some sort. Assuming we don’t take one in the first

I would move up to get a 2nd tier QB to develop if they are willing to eat Lynch's deal.

I think that was why they reworked Von's deal though, so they can cut Lynch.

Don't waste the 5th pick on the left overs at the top, move back up to get the best of the 2nd best options and let him sit for 2 years while hoping to get something out of Kelly. John likes to take risks with his 2nd pick anyway.

Can you be a little more specific? Offense? Defense? Which spot? WHO would you take, not what would you take.

BPA at a position of need. Donít reach for a RT just because we need one.

Use the #40 and one of the 4th round picks to move up and draft Hernandez

I dunno any of these dudes that well. Offensive lineman if we donít take Nelson (which we better not unless we trade down!)

Depends what we do at 5.

QB, then probably an OL of some sorts.

If another position then probably a playmaker.

Iíd be ok with that if that is all it takes. Makes more sense than Nelson at 5.

If it's a trade up into the early 20's. A 4th won't do it.

If Elway stops drafting positions by need in the 2nd round and starts taking the best player available there, then maybe we will get some production out of that pick.

If Chubb @ 5, then we have to go Chubb @ 40 for symmetry if available...

Nick Chubb RB

Otherwise, we look for falling line help...

Connor Williams OT
Martinas Rankin OT

Or a tight end for Keenum...

Hayden Hurst TE
Mike Gesicki TE

Or a value running back pick...

Derrius Guice RB
Kerryon Johnson RB

If we go Barkley or Nelson at 5, then we can look at CB and ILB:

Isaiah Oliver CB
Carlton Davis CB

Terrell Edmunds LB

I would go BPA for I've read some good name on here like a few of the RB's and TE's.Would not mind seeing what's there for LB and OL.

The thing with Martinas Rankin is he needs two years in the weight room and he is very raw.Pretty good chance he has to play OG in the NFL as well.

He's impressive isn't he? I'm not sure he makes it to #40 though.

I'd consider a move up by packing a 3rd with the 2nd and moving up into the 20's to get Jackson if he's still there past the 25 spot or a similar move to get Hernandez. I'd consider UCLA's OT Kolton Miller at #40, as well as Colorado CB Isaiah Oliver, Georgia RB Nick Chubb, or Stanford NT Harrison Phillips and NC State's NT BJ Hill, and Alabama's LB Rashaan Evans as some other possibilities.
