Same policy as the NBA. If you donít want to stand for anthem, stay in locker room

No one is talking about the reason of the protest. No one. The entire subject is what they can or canít do and itís been that way since mid season.

It will not be about cop injustice anymore. It wasnít about cop injustice the last half of 2017. This year they will find a different way during the anthem just because the nfl said they shouldnít kneel. Thatís what itís about now. And that taints their entire reason for doing it in the first place.
Amen brother.

Itís called fogging. When nobody wants to deal with the real issue but try to spin the situation so that they can be offended. Instead of listening to the real reason why people were kneeling (social injustice to minorities) and trying to come to a resolution they rather spin the topic to avoid the issue

Thatís not thought provoking. Itís not okay to have slaves. Itís wrong and totally bypassed my question by the way.

I support the right to sit during any time the national anthem is played as long as we have a racist, bigoted, incompetent buffoon as president.

Yeah. Real patriotism at gunpoint.

The hilarious part will be how much the media begins to talk about players not on the field for the anthem.

What does that have to do with the NFL giving their players an option to be involved with the anthem or not?

And more to the point;

All men are, and always have been created equal. It always has been a truth. The fact that men consistently fail to live up to things that are inherently true does not diminish or tarnish the reality of that truth.

We are all born with rights given to us either by God if you believe that, or by merely existing and being born. Men and women being born and having their rights violated from the beginning does not make that less true.

1. 3/4 of the world's population was in bondage during the American Revolution. The American Revolution freed slaves in the Northern States, but left the issue alone in the Southern states to be dealt with later, in order to form the union. There were in fact many free black people throughout America at that time. It can be argued that the American Revolution brought about the end of worldwide slavery.

2. Slaves were not citizens. Civil War made slaves citizens and gave them the right to vote.

Slavery has been around throughout recorded history of mankind. The founding of America essentially ended slavery. USA was one of the first countries in the world to ban the international slave trade in 1803.

The very reason why slavery is considered wrong is because of America.

Lol, no. Democrats have always pitted people against each other and taken away God given human rights. Same thing Andrew Jackson (the first Democrat President) did with slaves and Native Americans, same thing Democrats are trying to do today by attempting to take away the 1st, 2nd, and 4th amendments.

In 1835, UK, France, Denmark, etc. signed a treaty to abolish the slave trade.

Only thing you're trying to 'progress' towards is slavery for everyone.

USA abolished the international slave trade in 1803. Only reason why US didn't abolish slavery prior to 1865 was the Democrats had total control of the government.

Democrats are currently trying to get rid of 1st, 2nd, and 4th amendments. That would put everyone back into slavery.

The reason the US abolished the slave trade is because it was primarily run by the Brits and they weren't too keen on doing business with them any more, plus had a plenty large (4 mil+) population of them to do all the domestic trading and breading they needed, along with just smuggling in them in illegally for several more years.

Maybe a bigger question that no one seems to have the balls to want to ask is, why are we doing the anthem at sporting events to begin with? It's not the Olympics. Everyone on both sides is American. We're playing the Raiders or Pats, not Nazi Germany or ISIS. What the hell does patriotism have to do with playing a football game?
Plenty of people ask that question. Just not most mouth-breathing football fans who buy wholesale into the jingoism that is used to justify endless corporate wars around the world. Frankly I really hope this blows up in the owners' faces. Forcing people to stand for the national anthem is so against the principles this country was built upon that it makes my skin crawl. And to be clear I never really cared one way or the other before this. Now I'm actively opposed to the NFL on the matter.
