Cecil Lammey was saying the other day that he wouldn't be surprised if Irving became a 3-down LB for the Broncos this year.

Even Trevathan struggled to get on the field his rookie year. I wouldn't expect any 5th round pick like Barrow to come in and start getting a lot of snaps right away.

Trevathan struggled so much he replaced Woodyard by week five and had the headset for the plays after the bye.

I said ROOKIE year. Trevathan was a better player coming out of college, than Barrow, yet he still didn't have much of an impact his rookie year. It takes time for most of these late round draft picks to get good. Not expecting a whole heckuva lot from Barrow this year.

2012 Trevathan - 33 tackles, 22% of Defensive snaps.

I will say, though, that I wouldnt be surprised to see the Broncos sign a vet lb to solidify things.
I'm curious to see how he develops this year. I feel this will be the first time in his career that he will play nothing but MLB and not get moved.
I think he will do well and finally give us a legit MLB who we do not have to swap out for various reasons.

Last year it was David Bruton's last name
That and Peter King thought Michael Pittman was the starting RB...

I'm sure this Althouse guy will give us a couple gems

1. ManRam seems to be cemented in at starting Center.
2. Latimer definitely taking part in activities, it's not like he's standing off to the side waiting for his foot to be 100%.
3. Quinton Carter is firmly back in the mix.

Very excited about his potential. Sure would be quite the bonus to get him back to his pre-injury form.

He should be signed soon. The picks before and after him are signed, one of them being a DB. And the corner taken ahead of him is signed. There is no reason for him not be signed.

Rookies always show up for OTA's if their contracts aren't signed as a sign of "good faith." It's training camp where they don't go without a contract.
