Default Denver's failed NFL draft bid

I don't know much about the Beth vs Brittany Bowlen battle for controlling ownership of the Broncos. I do know Brittany was very involved in the Broncos failed proposal to host the NFL draft at Red Rocks which I think was a bad approach. Red Rocks is great for concerts but not for an NFL draft (logistics problems getting to the venue, limited seating capacity, etc)

Why not have the NFL draft in front of the Civic Center? That'll bring out the crowds the NFL likes (similar to Philly draft 2 years ago)

Outside in Denver in the middle of April, what could possible go wrong?

How about we not have it outside? We have a convention center, the Pepsi Center, even the Broncos Field house. There are lots of different places to do this and have it work. Let's get people out of the elements with plenty of room for the teams and the press.

Mike Shanahan's house is large enough to host it, why not there?

Outside in Denver in April was never going to work. Glad we dodged that bullet.

Outside in April? WTF? Logistics for the teams and draft picks would have been a mess too. If we had bad weather then that would have made Denver the laughing stock of the NFL and the great commissioner for picking that spot.

We should have it on top of Pike's Peak and watch everyone throw up from Altitude sickness.

Each top draft pick has to do the hill climb, and if they fall off the side of the mountain in a car crash, the team picks up a comp pick.

Outside the Civic Center? Have to clear the bums, dealers, and hipsters out first, might be impossible at this point... that place is a ****hole.

It is fine having it in Madison Square Garden every year.

Trying to win the NFL draft host competition with Red Rocks as your main selling point is like going into the NFL season with Trevor Siemian as your starting qb. Bad idea!
