The have a new wonderlich called AIQ administered since
2012. Baker ranked #2 out of 63 QBs so far.
Not sure who #1 was . Probably need to know that

These moneyball guys will make a lot of money or be out of business based on the success of Baker.
If he bomb outs then all the advance data will mean squat but if he succeeds
More teams will perk up to PFF

Be Intersting to find out what BB thinks about this.

Clueless and dumb.....good combo
There's a rookie cap now. You don't pay mightily.......
And every statistic says mayfield is the top qb and it's not close, but let's pass on a possible qbotf because he's too short.....

Stats are a deceptive thing apart from context.

It isn't "my" narrative, it's a fact. Statistics mean little unless they're examined within their context...PERIOD.

Timmy Chang, Colt Brennan, Graham Harrell, David Klingler, Colt McCoy... all put up some off the charts numbers in college. Which, as you can see, don't guarantee a successful NFL career.

The Patriots have been sniffing around him. He said he tries to model his entire approach after Brady, down to and including his diet.

Dude, I get it, its over your head, I'm not talking about putting up Madden numbers for stats.
I talking stats that matter.
Mayfield has the TOP 2 SEASONS EVER FOR A COLLEGE QB in efficiency rating. look it up.
Best under pressure
best yards per attempt
downfield passer rating, it goes on and on. I don't make up the analytics, the numbers sites and guys do.
Don't give a **** what guys your compare him to, he didn't pass for the most TD'S and yards every season, those aren't the stats I'm talking about.
I will give you that it doesn't mean **** for success in the NFL.
What I think sets Mayfield apart from the other guys you listed, is this:
He wasn't given the starting job at TT, he walked on and earned it.
He wasn't given the starting job at OU, he walked on and earned it.
He wasn't given the starting job in HS, he earned it.
He's short and not your typical "QB" by stature, he's had to overcome the being overlooked or the misconception that he's short, cant play QB at every step of his process. I see the NFL no different for him. He takes on the challenge of proving people wrong and thrives in that role. Again, NFL no diff.
Oh and to top it all off, the "new" wonderlic testing method over the last 4 years, hes recorded the 2nd highest score YET. Guy is smart, motivated, passionate and works to perfect his craft.
I WOULD BET he'll do the same in the NFL.
Mayfield is again the hands down best QB in this draft and its not even close.

Similar to Tim Tebow when he was drafted.

I can see it now, Baker blowfield will bust like Tebow and his fan base will be just as bad.

I can't be too harsh. I used to make similar-ish "Tebow did this in the SEC!" arguments.

I'm not necessarily against Mayfield. I just think we've mostly already hashed out the whole argument over how much college stats matter in the NFL.

And I started out on the same (wrong) side of the argument.

Stellar company on that list.

How have scouts not connected the dots that this stat is so closely linked to greatness in the NFL?

I'll be stunned if Elway drafts a 6 ft, slow qb with and average arm at pick 5.
