And yes, I know he made some big plays in the playoffs in previous years. But he was pretty terrible in the postseason this past year.

So was the entire offense. Sure he was shaky at times but so was everyone else. The entire team was ****ing up in that steelers playoff game. Drops everywhere. When your QBs suck to the point of coaches gameplans throwing out downfield passing all together, the production will drop. DT was double teamed and defenses rolling coverages to his side and the offense had no answer. The offensive approach this year was about the worst I've ever seen. Worse than Tebows offense. DT still produced then and did this year. I'm not going to bust his balls for a 5.1% drop rate.

People expect him to be perfect because of his contract. I expect him just to play like he has over his career.

And yet he was paid Top 3 money. It is also frustrating when he psyches himself out of the game. Great players do not have that same inconsistency. Maybe one or two games per season do you see great players get rattled, not the 4 or 5 that DT does every year.

DT in the playoffs and Super Bowl this past season:
21 targets
7 receptions
60 yards
8.6 yds/rec

Emmanuel Sanders in the playoffs and Super Bowl this past season:
24 targets
16 receptions
230 yards
14.4 yds/rec

So, Sanders had only 3 more targets but managed 9 more receptions for 170 more yards. I'm sorry but at DT's salary 7 catches for 60 yards in 3 win-or-go-home games is unacceptable.

DT is good but I think his physical traits compensate for an average receiver/mentality.
Yards per game in the playoffs:

1. Calvin Johnson (148)
2. Larry Fitzgerald (105)
3. Julio Jones (102)
4. DT (76)
5. Antonio Brown (66)
6. AJ Green (58)
7. Dez Bryant (43)
NA. Odell Beckham (never been to playoffs)

Scores and turnovers in the playoffs:

1. Larry Fitzgerald (10 TDs, 1 fumble)
2. DT (6 TDs, 1 fumble)
3. Julio Jones (2 TDs, 0 fumbles)
3. Calvin Johnson (2 TDs, 0 fumbles)
4. AJ Green (1 TD, 0 fumbles)
5. Antonio Brown (0 TDs, 0 fumbles)
6. Dez Bryant (0 TDs, 1 fumble)
NA. Odell Beckham

Tell me again how these guys are so wonderful and DT is a scrub, please.

How many of DTs targets were under/overthrown by 10 yards? I remember one easy TD thrown way over his head. Also, to assume defenses were approaching both WRs equally is naive. If DT wasn't on the field Sanders gets locked down IMO.

Did you watch the SB? Tell me how that gameplan even involved DT. They were flat out giving up on 3rd downs for most of that game. The playcalling didn't even involve DT. The over 15 yard plays were completely thrown out of the playbook. But the ONLY offensive TD was due to that defense drawing a flag on him

You are drifting away from the issue.

We are talking about drops - bad untimely drops - a lot of them - in big games

When VD makes the same drops he is not even considered by one person to be resigned

DT had drops that bad..........

It's when not how many

You numbers people crack me up. It's like you use them like wool to pull over your eyes.

DT hurt the team at times last season and in big games at crutial times.

DT had a subpar year for DT, that's because DT set the bar pretty darn high. He's absolutely a top 10 (I'd say top 5 IMHO) WR. Kubiak will figure out a way to get him the ball.

He's a top 10-12 WR making top 3 money. Given his size and athletic capability he plays soft and disappears in big games/situations.

another thing DT is not a team leader so he is a dissapointment there also.

He's a good receiver but is he worth 15 million of the cap? That is the question.

I'm sure that if DT was released there's about 25 other teams that would be bidding stupid money for his services.

Do you even watch him when he catches the ball? I can even count how many times he's made incredible catches at the right time. You just nitpick. Everyone hurt the team last year on offense but you concentrate on DT cause you just don't like him.

I'll take DT any time.

DT has some issues but I still love him. He made enough big catches last yr for me to believe he was a big reason we won the Superbowl. Without a couple big catches he made we might not get home field.

He can be more efficient by dropping less balls this yr. If he can do that it would help out a great deal. We need him to score about 5 more tds this yr, drop about 10-12 less balls. He can do it, let's have faith in him!

Baja is ignoring anything DT has done before 2015. He's basing DTs entire existence off 2015 that had some untimely drops.

I'll take what Sanders thinks about DTs 2015 season over a hater.

It's funny. Sanders is everything DT lacks, and vice versa.

Sanders is not a WR1 in this league so hard to compare.

I cringe at the thought of this offense without DT for 16 games. DCs would lock Sanders down and not have to worry about the other half of the field. Swarm the run and it's easy pickings. I doubt this offense would even reach redzones without the threat of DT being on the field.

I like DT just fine

He had an off year - it happens

and I am not "concentrating" on DT, this is a thread about him

Yep. I don't think DT has ever even dove for a ball before, sanders does every game.

His teammates seem to disagree with you, since they elected him as a team captain in 2014 (which was the most recent year the Broncos picked 2 offensive/defensive captains):

http://www.denverbroncos.com/news-an...5-0f4bed1100a9

He wasn't a captain last year, sure, but I don't think being the second choice behind Peyton Manning is any kind of indictment on DT's leadership.

DT deserves some criticism but he also deserves the benefit of any doubt. He proved to be exceptional in previous years, but last yr he had a new offense, a qp who struggled and one who was making his first starts. Who'd thought we could win a SB and world championship with DT dropping so many balls? Yet, he had 100+ catches, 1300+ yrds,. He does need to be more reliable, but he still produced and has done so since his foot healed up until the mixed bag last yr. Withold judgement do to the lack of any trend.

Another excuse that makes no sense to me is he dropped balls because his mother was getting out of jail. Isn't getting out of jail a good thing. Why should that affect his game as a professional football player. Shouldn't a guy paid as a top three receiver be mentally tough enough to transend those personal issues?
