Kelly beat BAMA, LSU AND AUBURN in the same year.

I agree, he needs to start ASAP. We need a jolt of energy. The running game is great if we have someone throwing that isn't a noodle arm.

Look what happened when CLE started Baker. Boom.
Jolt of energy. Suddenly the team is winning.
Gee, what a concept.

I'm not liking this concept of waiting for the bye week to start Kelly. Can he really be evaluated properly on a team that's just playing out the string? If the Broncos lose this Sunday, the season is pretty much a wrap, but there would be some glimmer of hope that they could still get back to .500 and make some type of late season run. That's enough to keep the team motivated to show up and play. I'd rather get Kelly in there when the season looks like it's lost instead of when it actually is lost.

man, kelly aint playing. i really can't see JFE having to sign Case's paychecks while Swag is out there. maybe if Case throws like 3 pick 6's or something but he will go deep into the season at least.

if kelly were to play, not this week. don;t want to destroy the kid. Case eraned this start and a shot at redemption...again.

Keenum gets the same game check whether he's on the field or on the bench. Since he clearly ain't cutting it on the field, there's no harm in giving Kelly a shot.

I saw someone mention it in another thread - Keenum is a sunk cost. Don't play him solely because you paid him!

Start him after LA, At least put him in a position to succeed. LA is going to be a beat down, no need to start his career that way.

How do you know? What if Kelly came in and gave them the spark they needed?
Kelly needs reps. Who cares if its against a good team or a bad team?
They are professionals. They need to play Kelly regardless of who he plays.
PLAY SWAG.

Start Keenum, then when the eventual happens (and the crowd chants his name), make the switch.

While I agree John can't do that. Early to venture guy after you've made a substantial financial commitment to him. if we were 12, 14 games in and the sample size shows that he is not improving or worth to keep playing then to switch might happen. To ask you this John doesn't want to punch this guy right away as that's a bad look the same situation we had when we all want to fire Vance Joseph last year. Bit of a rock and a hard place. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Or, you stick him out there in the worst possible situation with a crap coach against Wade the messiah and he gets ****ing shelled. Great entry to the league. I hate to say it but we are going nowhere this year. One game is not worth it.

No need to wait for the bye but this week or next Thursday don't make sense either. Let Keenum hang himself and switch to swag on the mini bye heading into KC.

Gee, what a concept.

Maybe ... he already resembles Baker in personality, or so I think. But defense is our real problem. We need a top-flite cover corner and a couple MLBs who can tackle. Rams have a REALLY dominant O-line, so they'll prolly jump up a few TDs early, that's when Swag will see his first action.

Rams are scoring 14 more points per game, and giving up 7 fewer ... why are they favored by just 7?

Just 7? A full TD on the road is actually a huge spread.

if you are implying that it should be lined LAR -21.....I will take the Broncos.

I was thinking 9 to 11 ... where's all the L.A. money driving the line down?

7 on the road is a bit heavy, but Rams PF-PA differential is 75, by far the biggest in the league. Our run D is horrifying, Rams have best O-line and a Top 3 RB in league. They don't have to throw A SINGLE PASS to win.

Sober Orton is the best thing this thread will contribute to my life. So I’ll just leave this here.

It is lined very similarly to the Sea LAR game last week. Seattle got 7.5 at home. SEA covered and should have won if not for the Broncoesqe 4th quarter wilt.

Good comparison, but the relative strengths/weaknesses are different and changing.

Time-of Possession is any team's best friend on the road ... Rams have 4 of the Top 7 PFF rated O-linemen this year, plus Gurley. We're 29th vs. the run. I'm serious when I say they MIGHT NOT have to throw a single pass to win.

Admittedly our running game is a bright spot, and the Rams' rush defense has lagged, but not nearly to the same degree.

Rams will have 10 days rest and an undefeated head of steam ... we've lost three straight, and guys have been yappin-n-bad-mouthin.

35-14 wouldn't surprise me.

*EDIT* No 10 days rest for Rams ...

F that. Start him. LA is preparing for Keesum.
LA is having issues on defense. They are missing their best CB.
They don't have a strong pass rush from outside.
Perfect for a mobile, big armed QB with not a damn thing to lose.
Run the ball. Load up and run the bootleg which Kelly excels at, and get him in space.
Stop F'ing around. And let the kid play. Otherwise they are just wasting time.
He's a big boy, Mom.

Not yet to start maybe... but it is time to insert him in the second half with another similar Case performance.
