Jackson not hiring an agent and thinking momma knows best was the dumbest move he could have made in the whole draft process, and he has made a lot of them.

Sean Payton on this year's imperfect QB prospects: "The pressure to get a QB is so great in this league... But we can’t create ’em. I wouldn’t be surprised if only one of these guys is left standing in 4-5 years

This is what I was saying a few posts back but was told I must hate QBs. Me and Sean Peyton, QB-haters.

Also, if the Broncos draft Lamar Jackson, you can bet I’ll log right in to the internet to register my displeasure.

The MMQB

Quote:
DENVER, PICKING FIFTH (OR TRADING)

I’m told a few things about GM John Elway’s draft-night preference:

1. He’s very unlikely to trade up.

2. He doesn’t think Bradley Chubb will be available here (nor do I), but he also views Quenton Nelson as a long-time great guard who could anchor his offensive line for years.

3. He hasn’t given up on Paxton Lynch, and though there’s a quarterback he likes a lot here (my guess is Mayfield or Darnold), having Case Keenum in the house for two years makes the drafting of a quarterback in this draft a lower priority. And if Elway picks one, Lynch would be the Rocky Mountain version of Christian Hackenberg—living on borrowed time.

4. Per Albert Breer, the Broncos are also smitten with two other ideas: trading down, or replacing Aqib Talib with Ohio State star cornerback Denzel Ward.

Yeah, turns out there was plenty of reason to be concerned about Bradford. He gets injured folding underwear.

Anyway, Rosen was once a tennis prodigy. He was actually on a trajectory where he was going to be a pro. Until....he suffered a shoulder injury.....in TENNIS.

He then suffered several injuries as QB at UCLA on his SHOULDER. He claims everything is fine. Of course he would say that.

So, how confident would you be with a guy that has a reputation of getting injured. It ended his TENNIS aspirations. Now, how is that going to be a football career that we will be hoping will last for more than a decade?

Nothing to be concerned about? For me it is very telling. I just do not like ANY of these QBs in this draft that are being hyped.
Yeah, I find it very concerning. Hadn’t heard about the tennis injury, but I checked and it’s true. That’s a massive red flag. That really only leaves me wanting Mayfield while being okay, but not thrilled, with Darnold.

Second, the "special quality I covet", is a guy who can play, and I happen to think a 4.3 40 is a blessing, not a curse like you do. I'm hardly backing a radical idea here, given the fact that he's considered a 1st round pick, NFL scouts have said he's improved passing from the pocket, and he's got a high work ethic, and predicted to land somewhere in the 20's, which is about where I'd be satisfied with taking him if they moved up for him. I consider him a better gamble than the OU Air Raid QB people are drooling over who put up a lot of big numbers against some very ****ty defenses. As for the Wonderlic, you're no genius either, nor a real "doctor" IMO...especially since the idea that intelligence can be adequately measured by a written test has fallen into disrepute with research suggesting otherwise. Do some due diligence and educate yourself, and you'll find out the whole basis for a written IQ test was deliberately designed to disadvantage black participants. I know that doesn't fly with your superiority fantasies but it is what it is. I've already posted several QB's who posted similar scores and succeeded in the NFL, and I can point to numerous busts who had high scores, so it's less valuable than you imagine, though obviously since the NFL puts these guys through a whole battery of other testing procedures, they probably don't hold it in much esteem either, however it does allow you to prattle on with your chosen narrative...and I'm pretty sure we both know what that is.

The fact is...you know nothing about the kid's mom (the point of this discussion), which you just proved. For all you know she's a finance professional with an MBA. Maybe instead of pulling out Michael Vick you should just read something and find out if you're going to sound stupid when you open your yap next time..."doctor".

Hahahahaha you dumbass, he IS a real Doctor and has probably forgot more than you know! !

The best part is you are saying he knows nothing about the kid's mom...blah blah blah, and yet, you are questioning Doc, who is ironically, someone you obviously know nothing about.

Carry on...

Footsteps also advocated for taking a flyer on Trevone Boykin, who beat up a cop over drafting Carson Wentz. Just let that sink in for a minute.

I remember reading about the Broncos looking at a division II or III guy who could be a draft day steal but for the life of me I cannot remember where I saw it or what the guy's name is.
