So, when I was younger, I'd listen to this album while playing the Tron game on my Intellivision... this is just one extended song off the album In Trough the Out Door by Led Zeppelin...

of course, that was in the early 1980s, but I loved the music from the 70s. Also, New Wave and Alternative all got started in the 1970s...

Lots of Trower fans seem to miss this one ... but I promise it will rattle your cage.

A little less brooding, a little more blow-the-roof-off-the-dump.

It’s my favorite decade when it comes to music even though I was born in 1976. The only thing I remember from the 70’s was Halloween 1979. I also enjoyed a lot of the sitcoms.

Glad to see some Trower fans. Really underrated as a blues-rock guitarist; one of the greats, imo. Got to see him in the 80's, but saw him recently at a small venue here locally in So Cal last May. The dude was 72 at the time, but absolutely blew us away. If you are a fan of classic rock, especially guitarists of the era, see him if you have a chance. You won't be disappointed.

Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St- my avvy, and considered the Stones masterpiece. Probably my favorite album of all time.
Led Zeppelin- Physical Graffiti & Houses of the Holy
Aerosmith- Rocks and Toys in the Attic.
Paul McCartney & Wings- Band on the Run and Venus & Mars.
Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, & The Wall
The Who- Who's Next - My favorite Who album.
Bruce Springsteen- Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Rod Stewart- Every Picture Tells a Story- His Maggie May album.

I know I am leaving many out, but there really is too many to list.

I like to call the live version of "Daydream"--liquid heroin.

I agree.

Personally I liked the beginning of the 70's, better than the 2nd half and identify Led Zeppelin with that early 70's period. As a whole, I don't feel the 70's is anywhere near the greatest.

Early 70s was by far the best era for both music and movies.

You could make a very good case that Ann Wilson is the greatest rock singer ever. But before you get all "but but but but but," listen to 'What About Love' starting at 2:52, especially after the 3:10 key change and out. That woman's voice packs locomotive power ....

Incidently, Ann and Nancy have been estranged for almost 2 years now, it sounds pretty bad. Ann's husband got into some kind of fist fight backstage with Nancy's 14 year old twin boys.

Love Jeff Beck. He was one of the Yardbirds back in the day, and perhaps, my favorite Yardbird lead guitarist. The Yardbirds started out with Eric Clapton as the lead guitarist, then moved on to Jimmy Page, and ended with Jeff Beck. Beck, IMHO, was the best of the three. He was certainly the rawest, edgiest of the three.

Anyhow, heres his Blow-by-Blow album, it's instrumental album:
