![]() Roughly 100 rookies don’t show up for rookie symposium
The NFLPA* is doing a terrific job by holding their “Business of Football” sessions, their own version of the annual NFL rookie symposium which was canceled by the lockout. Unfortunately, they can’t make attendance mandatory. Roughly 100 rookies are expected to sit out. Alex Marvez of FoxSports.com wrote Monday that approximately 125 of the 254 players drafted were expected to attend. The NFLPA* tells PFT their official head count is 152. Whatever the exact number is, it’s a shame that such a large segment of the league’s rookie class passed on such a great opportunity. ![]() Redskins will have a hard time trading McNabb
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...rading-mcnabb/ The contract extension to which McNabb agreed gives the Redskins the ability to squat on McNabb until the eve of the regular-season opener. After Week One, the Redskins would owe McNabb a $10 million option bonus and a $2.5 million base salary. Before then, however, the Redskins owe McNabb nothing — and thus the Redskins can wait for the kind of trade offer that they want. Or McNabb can buy out the balance of his contract. For the tidy sum of $30 million. Jason Reid of the Washington Post recently speculated that the Redskins would get, at most, a conditional sixth-round or seventh-round pick for McNabb. Even then, McNabb likely would have to be willing to renegotiate his contract. |

![]() Wait...was the 40 time determined by someone timing a dash on the field, or by how fast he set the treadmill? I mean if it's the treadmill thing it's completely inaccurate. You don't have to propel yourself on a treadmill, that's why it's not as good as outdoor or track running.

![]() I don't believe anything from the Marshall camp. They are liars and can't be trusted. I could easily see Marshall lying about how good of shape he is in, how fast he is, anything but say I worked on not dropping big balls and running good routes. It doesn't matter he won't get any better and has peaked. The reason is he tries to get by mostly on being bigger and stronger then other players. He doesn't work like say and Eddie Mac on perfecting his routes. He's a turd, doesn't work hard, and will have another sucky yr. He wasn't worth what Miami gave up.

![]() Quarterback Kerry Collins on Thursday announced his retirement from the NFL.
The 38-year-old Collins was the first draft pick (fifth overall) of the expansion Carolina Panthers in 1995 out of Penn State. Besides Carolina, he also played for the New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders and Tennessee Titans in 16 seasons. He threw for 40,441 yards with 206 touchdowns and 195 interceptions and was a two-time Pro Bowler. |

![]() Robert Kraft's wife passed away. Good article here outlining some of the charity work she was involved in, which was extremely extensive. Great person who did a lot of good for others.

![]() The article quotes coach Greg Dempsey, who I know pretty well.
Sanzenbacher should have been drafted and the team that snatches him up as an UDFA will be lucky. |

![]() I'd give Noel Devine, RB/KR, West Virginia a shot as well.
Sure he is small, but I've always thought there is a place for small RBs in the NFL. Might end up with a Darren Sproles type player, who adds another dimension to your offense or return game. |
