Hey John! Yeah, is this Johnny Bowlen? Listen, I just wanted to tell you I thought you would be great for the Broncos ownership position. And listen, once you're in there, I'm your guy to run the football operations.

For some reason this whole story is kind of fascinating. Maybe because before a few hours ago, I've never followed the story of the Bowlen family.

So John Bowlen was supposed to be the guy. Got his MBA with an emphasis on sports management. Started at the bottom with the Broncos and was working his way up. That's the right way to do it, opposed to some kid getting the team simply because his/her father owned it.

But then the character issues popped up. He shoved his girlfriend while she was calling 911 (the article didn't say why she was calling 911). He yelled at her that he's the "blood of the city" and a "friend of the mayor." He was accused of violating his probation in multiple ways - failing to abide by all laws; failing to contact his probation officer; failing to perform community service; failing to pay fines in the domestic violence case; failing to undergo domestic violence, drug and alcohol, and mental health evaluations and treatment; and failing to obtain permission to travel outside of Colorado."

Yeah...he's kind of excluded himself from the position.

A couple things that were just mentioned.

The controllers of the trust can possibly stay in power until Bowlen passes (that isn't confirmed).

One issue can be because there are two sets of kids. I'm not sure if it's known what the Bowlen family dynamic is. While all seven kids are his, the first two are by his ex-wife (who knows what their relationship is/was), and last five with his wife. Maybe they are one big happy family. Maybe not. Don't be surprised if that's an issue.

Hey Johnny. Once you're in there, know that I've maintained pretty much all my contacts, from when I worked there. I would be turnkey, for that job. I still have Papa Johns, Dominos, Pizza Hut, and Little Caesars in the speed dial on my Nokia flip phone. And since I've been gone, I've been scouting Beau Jo's a little. I like what I see there.

Many families have that same problem. I wouldn't be surprised if that played a part in Beth being turned down.

The three main competitors, as of today.

Johnny. Brittany. Beth.

Which one of these could you see holding up a Lombardi, saying, "This one's for my dad - a 2018 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame?"

Not sure but would bang the one in the middle first. Mostly because she is 28 and not late 40's.

So, one vote for Brittany.

Wait. Are you even one of the three trustees?

Beth has been turned down per the Bowlen Trust Board. I guess there's very high standards for the kids and if they don't meet the standards, they cannot take over the team. I have even more respect for Pat Bowlen. He's not gonna just hand the Broncos over to his kids, they have to actually earn the right to run the team.

Kudos Pat.

At this point they should just sell the majority to good owner and keep a small stake in the team. To bad the guy that just bought the panther isn't available

Sounds like she was fired in 2015.

Darn that little thing called personal responsibility.

Mr. Bowlen was a wise man.

I've never even heard of Beth Bowlen Wallace. You'd think if she really wanted to run the team that she'd be, yah know, known by the fans for her active involvement with the team over the years, right? I mean, she claims she loves the team and all, right?

Whatever Beth.

Brittany is playing it best....keeping quiet under the radar getting her degrees working in NFL offices and on NFL related projects.

No getting in trouble and not getting into a position where she looks like she's trying to make an overt move to get the job like Beth.

She is positioning herself well.

Never heard of her either. If she wants to run the team, maybe she can do some PR work for the team too. That's a great place to start. Help Ellis and Elway out by doing some active community involvement as the Broncos representative. You know, be a face of the Broncos in the community.

She should continue here background training too. But at the very least, your average fan will know her name if and when she makes her case for running the team.

Right?

She wouldn't be the first, the Rams had a woman owner IIRC.
