The way to stop gun violence is to give small children guns. Makes total sense.

I don’t think that’s real. Considering the references to musicians mentioned in that video. Seems like a SNL skit.

It's very real. These politicians were invited by Sasha Baron Cohen on his new show called "Who Is America?" to accept a phony "Friend of Israel" award. Tons of dumbasses fell for it and it gets way darker than this.

Republicans are so depressing.

In a few years hamsters and turtles in class rooms across America will need to be armed. It is happening!

I can see why people thinking arming 3 year-olds could solve out gun problems.

The GOP is sick, and I mean that literally. Now they want to arm 4 year old kids with guns, but you know, only the gifted 4 year olds, OMG

It does get more sick. They talk about how children would make great soldiers, and how they're proud that they killed a bill which would prevent 4-12 year old kids from having access to guns.

Uh, many states start hunter's safety at 10 or 11.

Sounds like there's a chance this was a dumb law.

only in stupidly run republican states. Just because you can legally give a 9 year-old a gun doesn't make it a good idea.

Sounds smart to me. It's well known young kids sometimes confuse fantasy and reality. There are many kids 10 years old who think Santa Clause and Superman are real.

Research indicates that children begin to learn the difference between fantasy and reality between the ages of 3 and 5 (University of Texas, 2006). However, in various contexts, situations, or individual circumstances, children may still have difficulty discerning the difference between fantasy and reality as old as age 8 or 9, and even through age 11 or 12. For some children this tendency may be stronger than with others.

I'm guessing I was 8 or 9 when I started shooting.

You're probably still waiting.

I was taught how to shoot a gun when I was 10 or so. Doesn't mean that this was a stupid law. Just because my parents taught me in a responsible way doesn't mean all parents will. Quite the opposite.

I'm not sure anyone's specified what the proposed law actually entailed. But if it was a blanket ban on minors under 12 from handling firearms, that quite obviously deserved to be turned away.

I am ok with 12. I started hunting at 12 with a safety course.
