Somehow you start a thread saying we will have less doctors when there will be more people entering the healthcare field as end users and expect anyone with a lick of commonsense to believe it ?
Then you get upset when somebody tells you your stupid ? Get over yourself.................. |

So yes PA are needed, and can be used to help family doctors see more patients, but i still think you need a real MD overseeing them. |

Some sort of plan is needed. Tax cuts for family doctors for their first 3 yrs, and less on student loans seems like a good idea to me. What good is health insurance if you call doctor and they say we cant see you for 2-3 weeks. |

So banning advertising for alcohol and tobacco products within a certain radius of a school zone is never okay?

Your point was ban drug companies from advertising. Please defend that point. |

The Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (6/22/09) gives the FDA the power to regulate what kind of advertising the tobacco industry can have on the premise that use of tobacco is harmful to your health. I would be in favor of Congress passing legislation banning or severely restricting advertisement of any kind for specific types of prescription medication, on the basis that telling patients to "ask your doctor if X is right for you" puts undue stress on doctors whose patients attempt to self-diagnose prior to visiting the doctor. |

The Federal Government is worried that children might order a $200 to $300 box of premimum cigars and pass them around at school. When was the last time you saw a middleschooler or highschooler standing on the corner with a $15 Padron sticking out of their mouth.” Last edited by Pony Boy; 11-18-2012 at 06:53 AM.. |

What a joke. The only commercials are for hair loss, pecker not working, and depression. Yeah you are right if we can just get rid of soccor moms wanting lexipro because they saw it on tv we will be ok. What a joke this whole point is. |

Tell the parents Lorenzos Oil was based on that trying to research diseases for yourself is a bad idea.
never just take a doctors word for something until you have 2-3 opinions and do your own research! |

Back to the OP. The reason that there is less family doctors is result of market forces, not Obamacare. Doctors are moving into specialized medicine, not because of the affordable medic care act, but rather because that is where the money (they need to pay back the loans for medical school) and prestige is. This trend has been occurring over the last 30 years.
Want more family doctors in urban and rural area figure out how to lessen the cost of Med School or do what the military does (in exchange for paying for medical school, you serve for 5 years in rural area) |
