I just want him to not suck. If he is a great/top 10 QB thus year I won't care if it comes out he is a serial cannibal. I am so ****ing tired of not being able to rely on my QB.

This is eerily similar to the Jamaal Charles signing.

Let's see what he does on the field.

Case Keenum-

41 turnovers in 41 career games played)

3.6% career TD (this is worse than Kyle Orton and similar to Trevor Semian)

6.97 yards/pass - This is dink and dunk stuff.

86 career QB rating. This is just below average for QBs.

Career best 22 TDs in a season - This is very low. TDs make the QB.

2016 had identical numbers to Trevor Semian.

Post season numbers are pretty bad; 73 QB rating 2TD 3INT 60% 6.69 yards/pass

2017 numbers show a conservative QB who will dink and dunk and not carry the team.

Conclusion:

He may be a nice guy but is he worthy of being the franchise QB for the broncos? He is a great backup. Case Keenum is just another Trevor Semian. He plays almost identical because he was also coached by Gary Kubiak in Houston. The broncos will not improve at the QB position much at all. Luck will dictate close games and Case Keenum is not capable of winning the game for his team. He will dink and dunk and play it safe. His numbers for QB rating may look good because of this but his QB play does not give the production that is good enough to win games. The defense and run game for the broncos need to be lights out to make the playoffs.

Case Keenum is Trevor Semian. The difference is he came off a good year and was on a super bowl caliber team. Yet allowed his team to get blown out by the Eagles due to poor QB play.

Good lord you are a broken record! Once again, you never offer solutions. Just whine, whine, whine. What would you have done instead? Bradford for $20m? Bridgewater? Start Lynch?

My evolving opinion is this was the right moved base on the circumstances at hand.

This pretty poor analysis overall, but to be expected I guess.

First off, a fumble lost is a turnover...not a fumble. He has lost 7 in his career. Peyton Manning lost 6 fumbles in 2013 alone.

You are using career games, instead of starts, which will always throw things off for good or ill.

You are comparing 2016's where Trevor Simian was on a Superbowl Caliber team and Case was on Fishers disaster of a team.

The info is far too dirty to make these kinds of analysis. Of course, we could point out that Keenum's 2017 was better than any Denver QB since 2014, and have a freakin' Superbowl victory in than span.

Cold City has advocated just going with Lynch in some of his other "hard hitting" and "fact based" posts.

Appears so. Apparently Keenum = Siemian = Orton...so, we might as well just go with Lynch.

I’m not a Keenum fan. But at least it’s a short contract. Can’t be any worse then what we had last year.

after watching lots of highlight vids, and checking his starts.

Case Keenum is our very own Alex Smith. He's a class guy though, so part of me is going to feel bad when we take a QB #1 this year and he realizes he's on a short clock here too.

We damn well better take a QB #1, and I won't feel bad at all. As long as Keenum earns the job, he'll keep it. That means he plays well enough to keep whoever is drafted a back-up.

Keenum should expect the pick, and want to meet the challenge.

I'm honestly closer to Cold City's side on this one.....sad as it is to say.

I just don't see where Keenum is that much better than Siemian.....if at all. And his cap his is what? 10 times what Siemian's is this year? If the plan is still to draft a guy with the #5 pick, they really should've just kept Siemian or Osweiler for pennies. I know that was an impossibility after the year end presser where they promised big changes at the position, and it would've looked bad, but Keenum is kind of a big-time waste of money for not much improvement if any.

Case has already become the greatest Broncos player to wear the #4.

Britton was pretty great during our super bowl run.

Ruben Rodriguez is not a name I've even thought of since the early 90;s. Deep cut!

So, is this another nice dude that aces pressers but can't throw a TD to safe his life then?

Case is going to do well here I feel. He is an upbeat guy with a chip on his shoulder. SB Qb? Not sure, but a guy that can HELP lead you to the playoffs, I believe.
