This may move the thread into the WAR and Politics thread but our fearless Twitterer is the one who fanned these flames.

Kap was out of the NFL and everyone had just about forgotten about his kneeling when Trump comes along and calls him out.

My favorite takeaway from The Donald was him saying something like "wouldn't you love to see the owner get rid of the guy and say your fired?" Well they did, Kap was out on the street by then.

I think The Donald is still pissed about winning his lawsuit vs the NFL when he was a USFL owner but only getting $1 in damages because the jury felt that Donald Trump didn't need any more money.

The thing that the Jury didn't take into account was the other USFL owners who didn't have Donald's Dads money to bail them out. I guess it is their fault for following Trump into the Abyss.

Donnie ruined the USFL by convincing the other owners to go head to head vs the NFL during the Fall instead of trying to stick it out as a 2nd league in the spring and making minor league type money.

Donnie failed in business a couple times, failed to run a football team as an owner and is going to fail as president after he drags the honor of the position through the mud in a money grab.

At the very least, it is the monetary system that generated everybody that plays, coaches or covers the NFL a whole lot of JACK. They can be respectful of that. It’s what made them the money they are making today.

Again, Kaepernick voided his own contract. He wasn't cut or "fired"

Players are fined for everything from unapproved decals to unsavory celebrations.

Their CBA quite obviously doesn't allow them to say or do close to whatever they want.

The CBA does lay out what they can be fined for. This may or may not qualify and the league can't unilaterally change that.

The league must be prepared to deal with owners who apply implicit or overt pressure on players to take the field, stand for the anthem and forgo a trip to the locker room. It would be a violation of the rule but difficult to adjudicate outside of the CBA. This could be especially relevant if enough players remain in the locker room to make it a weekly issue.

I will say that this particular issue directly crosses sports and politics. I think for issues like this, there should be a rule that it is contained to one thread on the main page, because there is no real way not to touch on politics while discussing this particular NFL rule.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. This is, by its very nature, a political topic.

It happens sometimes with sports... When it does, I do think we need to be able to handle it here without kicking threads on the sport/political topic to WPR. However, I am not a mod.

Because the mods have had enough of it dominating or spilling into every thread. It might even be topical to discuss politics affecting the NFL and the way it operates on game day...but we cannot do that.

Because apparently posters are unable to leave their political BS anywhere else but here.

Sure. Make a thread about it instead of polluting the around the nfl. Like the one that was made. Then donít move it because feelings get hurt or just because brats cannot handle seeing it on the main page. Polluting the around the nfl thread does no good.

Iíll start spamming Rosenís OTA plays in here!

This place cannot have reasonable political discussions.

Seen different reports and can't find a clear answer. If a player catches the ball in the end zone is it automatically a touchback? Or is that only if the ball hits the ground in the end zone?
