Default Which QB are you most afraid of the Broncos Going After in the First Round

For me, its not even close. I'm terrified that the front office is going to fall in love with Josh Allen's big arm and measurable athleticism. Then we will have another talented arm that is a two year project on our hands.

Josh Allen for sure. He is the type of college QB that used to be taken in the 4th round as a sit behind the starter developmental QB before the QB's started getting so overvalued in the draft process.

I’m more concerned that the Bills or Cardinals trade for the Browns pick at 4 and we don’t get any of the four QBs.

Rosen has the highest floor. I don't see much chance he's a bust, but those injuries have to give you pause. Second highest floor to me is Mayfield. The chip on his shoulder, the work ethic, the underrated arm talent and accuracy, and the "IT" factor makes him fairly safe. I can't see him being an outright bust, Big 12 offense be damned. He probably has the lowest ceiling, though. The turnovers worry me with Darold. I think he should've stayded another year. Allen, obviously, has the biggest bust factor. His stock is based entirely on potential, which has to frighten any fanbase that ends up with him.

Frankly, I think Keenum had an underrated year with Minnesota. Their OL wasn't much better than ours (22nd in DVOA; ours was 23rd). Yet they only allowed 22 sacks because of Keenum's ability to escape pressure and make plays (2nd best in the league last season outside the pocket). Contrary to popular opinion, he was a play-maker and not merely a caretaker. The risk is that he just got on a hot streak, but I see that as a lesser risk than any of the four QBs. I'd rather just let the QBs go and pick the best available non-QB. I'd be thrilled with Chubb, Barkley, or Nelson at #5.

Josh Rosen. He’s just a more talented Brian Griese in that he won’t be able to take the pounding of a 16 game nfl schedule. He’s had injury issues at UCLA - would that change behind the broncos shaky oline? I think not.

That said I don’t expect him to be there at pick 5.

Mayfield is the most ready to play but with Keenum for 2 years we donít need that option.

It would be fun to watch the meltdown on the OM if Elway pulls the trigger on Mayfield. I donít think Elway has given up on Lynch yet so I donít see us taking a QB.

Josh Allen, hands down. He has one throw, its a fastball and not nearly accurate enough. He is a bullpen guy, but will get drafted high because he has a rocket arm.

All of the above. I want Chubb or Barkley (i.e. the two best players in the draft) and the way this draft is setting up it is realistic to expect one or possibly both to fall to #5 which would be crazy to pass up. Its like getting the #1 or #2 pick traded to you for free.

While it is possible one or two of these guys turn into legit pro QB's, it is quite possible all of them fail (they all have major warts) and I think Keenum stabilizes the QB position in Denver.

I'm in the 'scared ****less we'll draft Allen' boat as well. I really hope John Elway has learned his lesson by now, but likely hasn't.

All of them, but I voted Allen because he's the weakest of the 4.

QB Quiz time:

QB1:
6-4, 235 pounds
568 comp 933 att 60.9% 6822 Yards 7.3 y/a 40 TDs 18 Int 132.6 Rate

QB2:
6-5, 233 pounds
365 comp 649 att 56.2% 5066 Yards 7.8 y/a 44 TDs 21 Int 137.7 Rate

QB1: Blaine Gabbert
QB2 Josh Allen
