I think Elway has his eyes on some college QB’s. If he has two or three he would be good with in a particular round then build your draft around that. If it’s best to move up or down, then you move up or down, and sometimes you do both. Also, get some OL help and studs on defense, and we are set to go.
I hope we splurge in free agency on defense.

Good safeties and linebackers in free agency, try to lure in Callahan as well.

Yeah, I think Elway will give Fangio pretty much what he wants on the defensive side of the ball.

His film says yes. Just need to confirm he has the mind and personality (interviews).

They need to be done with him. Don't have him in there keeping the seat warm, because if he's decent, when will the rookie get in? Take the cap hit, which is also a cap savings, and go with a rookie QB next year.
That's why you don't role with Kubiak who would be all in on playing Keesum to 8 wins... 8 painfully boring and soul killing wins...

Some young guy won't do that.

If Lock is the guy, pull a Ditka on the draft to get him. Getting a QB is not the time to play safe and sit and hope your guy falls. Go get him! If he turns out to be the guy, we won't care what it cost

I am worried we use team talent for collateral to get a better prospect.

Two this year and one next year could solve our issues for a long time.

Isn't a good $10 million of his 2019 salary already guaranteed? He can get cut, walk away with his money, and sign somewhere else as a backup and make a decent amount. Probably more than taking a pay cut to stay with the Broncos.
$7mil guaranteed. Which is why I've suggested the Broncos offer him something like $10-$12mil next year and cut him if he doesn't accept it.

That's almost a given IMO. Once the coaching staff situation is settled, don't be surprised if there is a huge turnover of the roster.

This is what Broncos should do: IF Lock is gone at 10, trade down and acquire another first round pick for 2020 draft. Then with the first pick, maybe take a QB, IF the right one falls (Stidham, Daniels, Grier) or take BPA.

Daniels? Do you mean Daniel Jones?

I wouldn't be surprised if they draft a DE/DT at 10 and attempt to sneak back into the end of the first with what QB is still out there (So they get the 5 year option).

F that. Trade up and get your guy. The back end of the draft is the Twilight Zone for QBs. Don't settle. Go get Lock.

Nope. Lock is not worth a trade up

If I could get decent odds that they'd trade up for Lock, I'd put a little money on it. Almost every QB who doesn't go #1 or #2 gets traded up for and it's pretty clear Elway loves the guy.

I don't like it, but I'm betting it happens.
