Scangarello not only can help develop a new QB, he can help Elway find the right guy. He saw in Nick Mullens an NFL QB before anybody else did

John Lynch talks about Darrell Moody, Rich Scangarello discovering Nick Mullens

Great another QB coach. Has he ever coordinated an offense before? Anywhere?

Ya heís seen offenses. He knows which ones work, and which ones fail in redzones.

Not sure about Niners QB coach. Is it because of Mullens? Cause he didnít do much with Beathard.

I think if you hire a young inexperienced guy at HC, then you should be looking at Experienced Assistant coaches at OC and DC.

But, if you have an experienced, respected long time coach at HC then you want to go young at the Assistant coach positions.

I would assume it's because Elway like's Kyle's scheme, and he likes how Mullens played. He's looking for a guy who can develop the rookie QB they are about to draft.

Itís not foolproof, but most of the ďexperiencedĒ guys who are available are set in their ways. A risk, but necessary IMO.

I would imagine he's going to do an impression of Kyle Shanahan. I'm not a huge fan of Kyle as a HC, but he is a pretty good OC. We all know Elway likes Kyle's offense, so I expect this to be the guy.

I would imagine that's his main selling point with Elway. I have no idea how Fangio feels about that offense.

Hopefully there is some gap/zone balance (potential Munchak hire would suggest there will be). No reason to think Lindsay couldn't thrive in an outside zone scheme with his skill set but we already know he was a great fit in the gap scheme.

Lindsay fits any scheme as long as there's some blocking to allow him to get past the line of scrimmage. His weakness is that he lacks the ability to power through really congested trenches.
