That's pretty amazing. Weren't they saying how Kubiak had been studying the new trends, and was keen to implement them into his offense? Guess that was a bunch of bull****.

This is great news, what. Kubiak's offense blows.

It's a bad PR move, but long-term this is one of the best moves Elway's made in a long, long time.

Kubiak, sure.

Certainly over some scrub with VJ-level experience.

Just a question. Why would Munchak leave Pittsburgh to go the team who chose someone else. He has a better player situation on the OL. I know the overall situation in Pitt is getting strange with Tomlin, the WR and Ben.

What I don't get in all of this debate is all of the folks saying that Elway has lost his mind and is super disorganized.

That is all based on media speculation. The Broncos/Fangio never announced an OC, they just said they are looking into it. The media announced that Kubiak was OC, and now that they find out that he isn't, they say the Broncos are disorganized.

Regardless, I don't think this matters anyway, I'm hoping we get that QB coach from SF or someone who wants to innovate on offense. Overall, good news if Elway decided to move away from the Kubiak/Dennison pairing.

Family (daughter and grandaughter) in Denver. He's not getting any younger and like pretty much all of us, we want to be closer to our families. If he can still be a coach and get to see his family more often, why not? I would do it.

I'd rather try to evolve, and not try to force our rookie QB to learn "the system" before he can play, but that's just me.

His contract also expired apparently, so he can go wherever he wants.

Reports are saying that Elway didnít want Dennison back. That he was going to be fired before he walked during his last stint in DEN.
That ALONE should be good enough reason to not have Kubiak as OC.
You want Munchak or Dennison?
Cmon, man.

His family, daughter/grand-daughter live in Denver he'd be closer to them.

He stayed in Denver after he interviewed with them. Munchak would be a homerun hire.

I guess you could call making up a new offense as you go "evolving"

We should start interviewing guys that've had beers with Sean McVay.

Neither of those guys were going to make the difference against the Chiefs or Pats.

Elway hired McCoy. Twice. Let's remember that when we do the whole devil you don't know thing again.

Was I? Just sounds like things fell apart at the last moment. It was still the plan from the start, like I said. I'm very glad it fell apart at the end though, and that Elway hates Dennison as much as the rest of us.

You clearly don't understand how offenses evolve. That's okay. Neither does Kubiak, and he does football for a living. Don't feel bad.

I believe you did say he was going to be our OC. I don't care why or how it fell apart, just glad it did.

Time to find an innovative guy.

Wasn't the original plan to give Kubiak a "broader offensive role" and have a younger guy at OC?

I bet they wanted Zac Taylor as OC and either he or McVay rebuffed Elway. So they pivot to Kubiak until it became clear he was not going to change his antiquated offense.
