Default Your Goals

Sitting here reviewing my goals on a Sunday night and was curious about everyone's! Always fun to have a change of pace, positive thread around here.

Most of mine involve fitness, who would have thought.

2018 Goals (and some progress)

Begin, or enroll into an MBA program (This one was tough as I'm pretty adamantly against higher education for 90% of the population. It makes sense for me right now.)

Progress: Enrolled, begin during the summer semester

Have my branch reach 6 million in sales (currently a branch manger, we did 1.2 million in year one, 2.6 in year two, 4.2 in year three)

Sales are going good, just plugging away and constantly focusing on systems and not sales

Finish Insanity start to finish, but finish in 100 days as opposed to 60. But still do the program sequentailly.

zero progress

Run the St. Jude Half Marathon (I did this last year, an amazing experience)

Have just maintaned running, could probably do a 5k no prob-10k as a challenge. Not until December

Run a Spartan Race with friends.

Got the guys committed, need to pick the city and weekend and commit

Take a RELAXING, REJUVENATING vacation.

Recently booked a trip to drive the "Lost Florida Coast"

My only goal: donít set my goals in life based on sales numbers dumped on me by a stiff in a suit.

I don't wear a suit

Our goal was: "5 Million, but realistically just keep doing what you're doing"

If sales goals not set by myself were a large part of my job, and a stressor in my life, I would switch jobs and/or start my own gig.

But I hear ya'.

Get my CPA by June 2019. So damn lazy. So many projects around the house I wanna do. Install travertine tiles around patio, build a new abor/covered patio/outdoor fireplace.

Build a virtual pinball machine using hyperspin as a front end. Build a mame arcade machine using a matrix display.

Redo my daughter and sons bedroom with new furniture. I plan to build that to.

When I finish my master's in 9 eternal weeks, I'm cutting way back on tech and materialism. Gonna write and find a way to really live. All these infernal gadgets and system trappings got me ready to take a long walk.

Iím retired, sold my business and shouldnít ever have t worry about finances. My wife will sell her practice at the end of the year and retire also, we will either be playing on the couples golf circuit, traveling in the RV or on the lake.

Working hard on try to get my golf handicap back under 5 and moving to senior tees should make this possible.

Only worries are health, wish I would have taken better care of myself in my younger years when I thought I was bulletproof. My wife will live to be 120 but she doesnít say ďI told you soĒ.

Ending year 1 of my goal of living out of the US.

If the local government grants us residency, that would be a huge leap forward with that goal.

Actually, not really.

Edited to say:

I haven't seen one snowflake since I've been here.

I saw a lot more cocaine around Aspen. I haven't seen or heard of any here. I did get offered some in Costa Rica, though.

I have some financial and savings goals I have for this year and next year. I have goals in dividend income I want to hit this year and next year also.

I want to build the savings back up to a point where when the super hot housing market in CA starts to burst because of tax changes and/or a recession, I will have enough for a down payment on a nice 4 BR house without having to liquidate my investments. I'd like to purchase in a year or two.

My dividend tree is rolling along and I don't want to kill that golden goose to finance it. I could do that right now if I wanted to but it isn't worth it. Plus, right now, I need prices to drop a good 20%. I'm simply unwilling to pay massive prices for an ordinary house when all the tax benefits of owning it were taken away.
