Nobody protests, nobody riots and nobody demands justice for those murdered in cities like Chicago and Baltimore because nobody cares.

The reason people kneel for the anthem is because they want attention but not the attention the media portrays. It's more of a selfish "look at me! Look what I'm doing! I'm so shocking!" moment. It has nothing to do with real issues that are effecting people. These multi millionaire athletes don't live in "da hood". They live in lilly white, gated communities, far away from the people they claim to be defending.
Back when we had a real President, he started his career with a law degree going door to door in Chicago organizing local people in the city's poorest neighborhoods to vote. After he became President he was mocked by the same people mocking Colin Kaepernick. If you honestly think "nobody" cares, you're hanging around the wrong people.

And a high percentage of NFL players came from "da hood"...which I'm sure you already know.

Obama literally accomplished NOTHING in his life before you retarded libtards pushed him into the WH solely because he was a well-spoken black man (Biden's words). once the teleprompter started malfunctioning, we quickly saw he was not even well-spoken. everything he got in his life was given to him by shady puppetmasters, which included his first run for office. do you even know the story of how the Bill Ayers wing of the party submarined a sitting black woman democrat in order to open up the office so that Barry could run for it?

some day i'm going to piss on Obama's grave and take a photo to commemorate the moment.
Barack Obama is a self-made, thoughtful intelligent man who represented America on the world stage with decorum and respect.

Donald Trump is a boorish blowhard who spent his life as a spoiled rich kid who was a criminal business man. He's a racist, sexist, sexual offender who isn't intelligent enough to put a ****ing sentence together. He has ZERO intellectual capacity or curiosity, doesn't understand half the **** he's talking about and doesn't even care to read. You could offer him 5 million dollars to explain the healthcare bill and he couldn't get past "its a great bill!"

If you honestly compare the two, you're ****ing hopeless. I don't understand how someone who is intelligent can't see the difference.

now I'm from NYC. Donald Trump was always a clown to us. He was this rich dude who would brag about being rich, then his casinos would close down and we'd all laugh at his narcissism. He was never a serious person, he never pretended to be a serious person. There's a reason NYC voted for Hillary 10:1. The rest of the country is finding out what we've always known.

People are on food lines, talking in the halls, taking a piss... certainly not "respecting the flag."

For the life of me, I don't see why kneeling while a song is being sung is some outrageous gesture, but I do think if it gets people talking, that's what protest does. I have no doubt that, during MLK's marches, scores and scores of southern whites found it to be incredibly distasteful. You're never going to find a protest everyone is just happy about. We just hear the dissent more because its easier to communicate, and our country has become so binary (i blame social media) that everything becomes a fight.
this is true. i always stand for the anthem, but many do not. and the NFL are hypocrites here too. they made the DoD pay them for each game where there was a military honor beforehand. one thing we can agree on is that NFL owners are by and large a bunch of greedy old Potters (as in Potter from It's a Wonderful Life).

here's one where he referred to himself 216 times in an hour and a half.

And here is the problem... Ignorant people say COPS are out of control, Someone who has followed this for 25+ years knows that it is SOME policeman are abusing their authority, The same as SOME professional athletes act like the law does not apply to them. Not all professional athletes.

If you read Wolfe's statement, he states that he feels it is disrespectful to protest the flag of this country where hundreds of thousands of men and women of every color have died defending all of us, giving us the right to have the best life style in the world.

Trump is an a-hole... but taking a knee during the National anthem to make a statement against him is over the line and to be honest, it is where the players have lost what little support/respect they had from me.

When cops/security sees a Muslim man in an airport they are more cautious with him than an old lady. USING STATISTICS, THE BRAIN HAS MADE THIS "RACIST" ASSOCIATION.

When a person sees a stove top that is red, they are more inclined to believe it is hot. USING STATISTICS, THE BRAIN HAS MADE THIS "RACIST" ASSOCIATION.

These two things are exactly the same.

When it comes to how you treat an individual, you need to step back and treat them as a unique person in this world and not a self reaction. When you are tasked with with the safety of others, life and death situation, and using instincts, you have to be reactionary and you have to use statistics.

I'm all for pushing for change, I'm pro affirmative action, I'll march at a gay rights rally (there's typically a stated goal in mind). I vote left on almost all social issues. I think Trump is an ass hat and I think Obama was a great president, AND it was very important for this county that he was black.

I also believe African Americans are absolutely discriminated against. I just don't believe kneeling is in any way shape or form a solution, maybe even a problem. The solution is to volunteer, donate, help out, fight and even protest for better schools, better teachers, better resources, better ways to start changing the statistics in this country.

African Americans can own the statistics I've mentioned and try and change them, or they can blame other people, cops etc. for these statistics. In the society of victims we live in, in affraid it will be the ladder.
Black people do all the things already that you suggested. Do you seriously think otherwise? Yet it hasn't stopped police abuse targeting them, nor do your comparison examples explain things like why the city of Chicago had a torture squad that they used on black citizens, or why the Dallas DA's office maintained an actual handbook on how to keep black people off juries all the way till 1993, or for that matter why a 12 year old boy with a toy gun would be gunned down 2 seconds after white cops arrived on the scene. These are not aberrations, but merely examples of systemic racism that have come to light through the media.

So how do you feel about black people eating at the wrong lunch counter? That was more offensive to many whites in the 1960's than kneeling for the song written by a slave owner who used his influence as the District Attorney in Washington D.C. to try to stop the abolitionist movement.

It's not even about the song itself, but it could be. A better question than the ones you're asking is why we have chosen this particular song as the official symbol of what we stand for given what we know about its history and its author? Why would we think BLACK PEOPLE should feel obligated to stand up and respect that? Would you? If the anthem were written by Louis Farakhan would you stand out of respect? Of course not, and why should you?

But again...it's not even about the song itself. On top of that, today's protest is more about what the POTUS just said. The people he called sons of b****es apparently didn't take kindly to his remarks. But let's be sure we focus on players kneeling instead of the foul idiot who promoted this action today.

I wish they would.... do it on your own damn time. Don't make the sport into a political arena. Want to protest, go to capital hill. Use twitter, post on Facebook, run ads, go march with BLM.... but keep it away from football. Enough is enough... **** the Broncos and the NFL for turning my favorite sport into political arena.

Lol, this is dumb. You are uniquely qualified to speak on very little based on what you've written here, and your last little statement shows how woefully ignorant you are on basic American history. Concepts like passing or miscegenation.

I didn't see this before. I respect your view, but Trump bought this on himself. He's clearly using mob patriotism to distract people and galvanize his sheep. He attacked Steph Curry first. I think it's American as heck to rise against demagogue rule. Not that I really believe in nationalism so much anymore. Its days are numbered with climate change coming, anyway. People gonna living in high rises on the poles by 2060, if not sooner. So this is ALL MOOT WE ARE ALL DOOMED.
