I love that #7 is number 7 on that list

Me too, but ... is that maybe why he cut CJ? I've seen guys do weirder things based upon superstitions and numerology.

That looks good until you see that CJ couldn’t do in 4 yrs what Portis did in 2.

Ummm, everyone else above him on that list (except TD) took at least 5 years to do the same so I think it speaks more to how good Portis was than anything.

Doubt it man. Early-to-mid 20's (earliest) and I'd say 40th would be the absolutely lowest for him. I have been wrong before though!

Yeah, I'd rank Portis above CJ. That's my line on CJ. Our best back since Portis.

Plus those were the years where it was virtually impossible for us to NOT put up a 1,000 yard rusher. Didn't matter who it was.

That would make for a lot of 1st round RB. Hasn't the league been moving away from that? Not to mention with all the talent at RB in the draft it seems like it will push a lot of those guys down, since teams can feel they can't get better value later.

Good lord that’s a laughable comparison. Portis beyond his incredible production during his short tenure netted us Champ Bailey and a second round pick.

Who is the poster who still claims the Broncos lost the Portis trade? Wolf? That seems like something Wolf would think...

One of my favorite "What if" scenarios to contemplate is had we not traded Portis for Bailey (and picks, T-Bell) . . .

Just how good have Portis been under Shanahan/Turner had he had his career with them? Hall of Fame caliber, IMHO. Just phenomenal when he was here.
